Post Prom
Early, early Saturday morning, I drew at yet another post-prom with yet another caricaturist colleague. These wee-hours events are the only reason I ever drink Red Bull! Speaking of which, we were set up near a mechanical bull, along with the usual assortment of inflatables.

Homestand over...
No more baseball games for a bit. Here's two from yesterday afternoon that stood out:

A young teenager and her grandfather...

These guys were celebrating the fu-manchu-ed one's birthday--the missing one was more interested in the game than the caricature--but the remaining two kept having me write more and more stuff on it...

My weekend was spent...doing caricatures
Big surprise there, huh? :-)
On Saturday afternoon, I drew at a set of twins' first birthday party, poolside (a lovely outdoor one this time!). My handy easel umbrella shaded me a bit so I didn't have to take up much room under their backyard tent... lots of guests, so not a lot of photos, but here's one of my very last subject.

Then it was off to the Phillies game:

Here's one from Friday night:

Sunday afternoon was a soggy affair (the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry) but the Phillies managed to not only have a game--but beat the Giants! ( and the remnants of MLB non-hero Barry Bonds)
Here's a pink munchkin whose mom got a Father's Day gift for her hubby a little early...

Baseball fever...
This guy and some friends, all from Chicago, were on a nine-day trip...to see nine baseball teams in nine different stadiums! They'd been to Camden Yards and Fenway already, and found our four-year-young Citizens Bank Park to be not only beautifully open, but also had the best food (and caricature artists ;-)

Three more drawings...
This young girl got to go out on the field with the Phanatic between innings and lift his barbells, which he can barely do....;-D
This couple was in search of a Bosox game, but settled for the Phightin' Phils instead...
This young man originally asked for a BW sketch, and when his dad got a gander at it, he was good for the extra money it cost to do it in color!

NCN Competition final results
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my entry in the NCN Face-off competition came in third place. Although it was a small field of contestants this time around (it's busy season for caricaturists, obviously) they are a high caliber of other professionals. I learn something every time I enter, and I appreciate the time Court Jones and the other judges spend mentoring each entrant's progress.
So, here is my final... illustrating the possibility that the Duchess of Windsor was a hermaphrodite, by displaying her pet rooster!
(The first and second place finishers also had somewhat racy themes but were tastefully done).

Here is what I won..a preliminary charcoal sketch from Court's current project, Aragorn from LOTR...

I'm looking forward to the next Face-off...

Charming couples in Charm City...
I had some very interesting subjects today in Baltimore. One couple traveled 3000 miles to see their team, the Oakland A's, play the Orioles; another had a red-blond-and-blue mohawked gentleman and puffy-haired red-headed lady; and the last couple asked me to showcase the girl's extremely looong fingers in a rather rude way (she said she did it alot!)
