Company dinner caricatures!

When associates from a finance company who are spread far and wide get together for a few days, having dinner together is a nice way to relax and have fun...especially if you bring in a caricaturist or two!  Ambiance Reel

It was held in the Great American Pub, a wonderful venue I had not been to before. My colleague for the evening was Mr. Caricatoonz himself... The Bash was the link to us all being there.

Here's a few of mine, you can see John's here.

Check out their entire reaction on my IG. Hee hee!

Thank you for having us!

Update: received this glowing review on The Bash from the client! Thank you!!!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Emily Byrne as our caricature artist for our company's event, and she was a massive hit! Emily’s artwork was nothing short of incredible; each caricature perfectly captured personality, humor, and charm in a way that left everyone smiling from ear to ear. Our team couldn’t stop raving about her talent. Not only is Emily exceptionally gifted, but she is also professional, warm, and incredibly kind. If you’re looking for an artist who is talented, personable, and guaranteed to elevate your event, Emily Byrne is the one. We can’t recommend her highly enough and can’t wait for the opportunity to work with her again!

Windswept wedding caricatures!

On Saturday, I drove through a crazy March snowstorm complete with howling high winds to get to a wedding reception...but it was SO worth it! Look at this happy bride and groom!

It was held at a very cozy and charming wedding venue, ChickBerry Farms in Sussex County, Delaware.

The groom had quite a logistical hiccup, in that he had picked up the wrong pair of pants where they'd been altered for him, and ended up with a pair that was entirely too large when he got into his final wedding attire! Luckily, there was enough time to retrieve the right pants, but OF COURSE I had to draw the droopy overlarge ones---so they can laugh about it forever after!

This was the first wedding gig where I've been unmasked since 2019!

It was so great to be able to converse with guests as I drew them, and they could actually hear me!

Here are some views of my time there:

Have to add, the DJ Sky Brady was marvelous! He acted as emcee, singer, comedian, and music-player. And did them all extremely well. He's the guy with the Rod Stewart hair and microphone in his caricature. ;-)

In my previous blog post, I mentioned that my little lightweight Ikea drawing table had finally bitten the dust. So for this gig, I reverted to my old French easel, which is actually better for lighting placement. They had a whole long table for me, which worked out because then I had room to lay finished caricatures for pick-up at reception's end:

This afternoon, the bride emailed with feedback:

Hey Emily!
Thank you so much for the pictures, the kind words,
and most of all - the AWESOME caricatures! Everyone was absolutely raving about you.
You exceeded our expectations 100%. Thank you so much!!!

Thank YOU for having me, Jenna and Michael!!! I really love my job!

Another dental-practice holiday party with caricatures!

This one was for the same dental practice, but in another town...and this time it was in a restaurant...

More appreciative subjects: (especially for my accurate portrayal of their TEETH!) ;-)

Thanks for having me!

Sweet 17th Birthday caricatures!

This young lady had to forego a Sweet 16 celebration last year because of the pandemic. So this was her Sweet 17th-- with slumber party festivities and caricatures!  Everyone was in full color because of the small number of guests. They gave me a wonderful reaction when I drew the birthday girl as a finale, and they ALL saw it at once:

The various themes for each caricature were all fun and unique.
Thanks for having me Liliana!!

Dental practice holiday party caricatures!

This was A LOTTA FUN! I knew that my drawing teeth extremely accurately would be acceptable at THIS event...as opposed to the many times over the years that I've been asked (mostly by parents of small kids) to NOT draw teeth as they were but to *improve* them...

I actually drew the caricatures in a TREATMENT room---next to some sugar-laden, teeth-rotting goodies!

Love this reaction!! Actually there were a ton of great reactions. Must have been all the sugar!!

I am so glad I filmed THAT reaction!!!!
Thanks so much!!!!

Delightful couple opt for having my caricatures at their December wedding reception...

...after the bride's cousin, had me at hers in October! So I'll start with the bridal couple, and their reaction!

So, I started out drawing during the cocktail hour in the huge gaily-decorated foyer...then moved into the ballroom once all the guests went in, as dinner started.

and here are some of my first sitters:

Below right: This is my recent bride, who is the cousin of the current bride, so I have her to thank for passing on my info!
Here's her and her friend's reaction:

Now for the second location:
Can you see me taking the photo in the mirror?
More caricatures:

and another reaction! :-)

What a wonderful night, thanks SO much for having me!

Wedding caricatures at historic Yellow Springs

My third wedding (in one weekend) was held on Sunday, in a truly unique place...an inn in a historic Chester County village, where George Washington himself once visited. I drew during the cocktail hour in the beautiful garden/courtyard...then moved inside...

Above:You can see the bride and her bridesmaids heading to the the ceremony, which was held in a roofless stone chapel up the hill...

When they came back, I got started...

And finally, here are the thrilled bride and groom, whom I drew from photos taken when they came in:
Their reaction really tickles my heart. :-)
Thank you for having me!
