Caricatures at Summer Kick-off party!

This was a summer kick-off pool party for residents of a very nice rental community. It was hot, so my lovely client (who found me via Gigsalad) put me in the lounge area with AC (for me AND my subjects!)

You can see their hilarious caricature reactions HERE.

Here's the Ambiance Reel!

haha...

My client had this to say on Gigsalad afterwards: ( THANK YOU!!!)

5 stars Emily was a hit!!!

Our staff and residents absolutely loved Emily! Her caricatures were amazing, and she had a line from start to finish. She was friendly, engaging, and made everyone feel special. The drawings were a huge hit, and guests are still talking about them. We would definitely recommend Emily for any event and would love to have her back.

Employee Appreciation Caricatures!

What a gorgeous spot to draw some caricatures! This is a lounge in a 55+ community, and the day was dedicated to celebrating the employees:

Mini-caricatures at the Mutter!

A client booked me via The Bash for a combination Halloween party/trade show at one of my favorite venues, The Mutter Museum in Philadelphia!

So I did my speedy line-drawing-only mini-caricatures and drew 35 people in two hours.

Some folks were in costume, some weren't. All had fun!

I asked her if she was Freddie Mercury, and she said No," Ted Lasso!! But interesting alternative."
The very next morning this feedback was waiting for me on The Bash:

"Emily was great at our event and will book again for our next one. " 5 stars!

Thank you!!

Vroom vroom! Racetrack caricatures! Three days worth!

This July, I experienced a totally new type of venue for my caricatures...a NASCAR racetrack! Specifically, the Monster Mile Fanzone at Dover Motor Speedway. My job was to draw as many free caricatures for guests as I could, in a wonderful beach/boardwalk themed area, (complete with tons of trucked-in sand!) showcasing the fun coastal aspects of my home state of DELAWARE!

My papers were printed with a smokin'  Ford Mustang and the track's logo, so all I had to do was draw faces. I am happy to report that over 200 people now have a caricature from me, over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours that I spent there!

Here's my IG Reels if you want to get a sense of the atmosphere!

Day 1.      Day 2.     Day 3.     Some reactions!

So, for this event, I decided to try an old/new way to shade my caricatures, that was fast...PanPastels. A long time ago I used to do the chalk-and-glove technique using lecturers chalk, and this is similar. I used makeup sponges and applicators (not gloves) to lay down a nice saturated swash of dry color over my Copic Sketchmarker linework. Folks liked it!

You can see why I chose the limited color palette:

Met a race car driver, Todd Gilliland!

Last one on Sunday afternoon!!
And some other images of my time there...
Thanks for having me!
