Senior Citizen caricatures!

Senior citizen caricatures.... I've always loved doing them...even when I wasn't almost one!

This fella wanted a GO AWAY sign for his door!

He guffawed when he saw the drawing, and then posed for my photo EXACTLY how he posed for the caricature. :-)

This gentleman, everyone said, should grow a long beard so he'd be a perfect Santa. I concurred he had exactly the right expression!

I told this man he looked sorta like Curly Howard. He agreed. :-)

I told this man he reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe. He wasn't sure about that...

This guy shoulda been in Pirates of the Caribbean!

This couple were proud Dallas fans!

And I did draw a few ladies...

This facility was a repeat client from five years ago...my client, the new activities director, had been drawn at an event prior to the pandemic and brought me back. Thanks for having me!

Caricatures during "Cruise Week" at senior living community

Had my own ROOM at this event!
The occasion was "Cruise Week" at a senior-living community,
but some of the staff got in on the fun as well!

Thanks for having me!! :-)

Fall party caricatures at senior residence...

I really LOVE drawing senior citizens! And I've missed it since the pandemic shut down so many fun activities at this type of venue. So, yesterday was my first gig like this in a very long time...for a treasured activities director/repeat client,  who's booked me at all three places she's worked...

Here she is taking a photo of one of my subjects with his drawing.
After drawing some residents, I drew some staff too!!

Thank you so much for having me!

NYE caricatures!

Happy New Year!!! Last night I drew for a big New Year's Eve bash at a retirement community. Step right up!
Yes, my sign is weird...they added an hour at the event, so I changed what was "8 pm" into "7 pm"....making it a five-hour gig instead of four. Ending 2018 auspiciously!!

Because I'd drawn here previously, I had a line waiting for me before I even started. These two were my fans!

They were definitely a fun-loving caricature-appreciating group!

So, this couple below were my very last drawing for 2018. I added some words from the song that he was singing to her ( they had been playing oldies all night) and they LOVED it.
Thanks for having me!!!! See you in 2019!!!! :-)

Roaring 20's caricatures!

Last night saw me drawing at a 55+ residence, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a 20's themed party (what else?)
Amazon must have been very busy beforehand delivering hats, boas, fringe and other frou-frous to the excited residents!
My spot was in the library:
What a happy and dressed-to-the-nines group of seniors!

And there was one Dr Who fan, who didn't smile AT ALL until he saw his caricature!
And the one couple who didn't get the Dress-Up memo...
Fun fun FUN! Thank you for having me!

Anniversary party caricatures!

This seniors residence likes to party with my caricatures! But these two ladies were shy.
I'm usually set up in their very welcoming lobby.
This lady's name was Lorna---so I had to draw her WITH HER COOKIE!!!

Healthcare Caricatures

Another instance where I generally don't photograph subjects, just drawings, is if they're patients: so here are a few who sat for me at a luncheon event. But the staff are good for it!

This nurse told me to make her look like she was working really hard!! Bwahahahahha!

Veterans Caricature!

One morning back in February, Deb Schafer and I switched hats (literally) and caricatured some vets in Philly to honor them for their service to our country and give them a smile. I drew these gentlemen and she drew the lady. :-)

Anniversary party for senior citizens' residence!

This was a two-parter...an afternoon session where I drew in a welcoming foyer, (above) and later, an evening session in a ballroom. Yes , I know my arrow is pointing the wrong way.
And do I love doing the character in older faces!

The evening session was Broadway-themed with a live band playing! How fun is that!

Here is their reaction! I love that you can see others' reactions too!
Here's one I saw on a table on my way out. This place is one of my favorite gigs. :-)
