Dog Caricatures at bank's promotional event!

This bank likes dogs (and their humans!)...so they had me drawing dog caricatures on the opening day of their dog ATM--it dispenses water and treats!!

Ambiance Reel on IG :-)

Some drawings were done from photos on folks' phones, and more were from the actual dog
who came in with them:
Mostly, I drew dogs with their human:

Thanks for having me!!!  Woof!

In-store holiday event caricatures...

On a bright and shiny December Saturday morning, my caricatures were an unexpected bonus for customers at an upscale home/gift shop not far from Wilmington, Delaware. The hot-cake item folks were buying were POTUS, VPOTUS and RBG tree ornaments!

Santa was on hand as well, visiting many of the shoppes in the complex. I heard that FLOTUS was actually shopping nearby, (folks came in telling us so!) but she didn't come into our particular shop...it would have been fun to see her buy an ornament of her own husband!!
All my drawings were full color, and most of them were live sitters.
The two drawings above were from photos.
Below: my setup was a little different, I sat at a high table.
Thanks to Goofy Faces for the gig! :-D

Vroooom vroooooom caricatures!

On Saturday afternoon, some threatening skies kept the crowds small at a Harley-Davidson parking lot party, but the folks who were there got some cool caricatures from me!
I drew EVERYBODY on a motorcycle!
I moved my easel around a bit to where the people were congregating, and to avoid the drizzle. It
never did actually pour, luckily.
The dealership had me take donations towards their favorite charity, and
even provided a sign for my easel.
Thanks to Bette's Bounces for the booking! :-)

Mini-Golf course celebrates 50 years in business...

....with caricatures! I'd actually taken my kids here to play many years ago, so it was cool to see this cute little stone house on the course again. They've added a castle now!
Easel and I were situated on a quaint little porch area:
First up was an employee and her little one:
I LOVED drawing his hair!!!
Giggly teenage girls:
The always popular 'bunny ears' schtick:
Their parents decided to get one, too:
And I drew til it got full dark. :-)
Thanks to 513 Entertainment for having me there! :-)

Corporate Promo Event..

Sounds pretty dry, but it actually wasn't! Smiles and laughs abounded, as employees made their way to a huge cafeteria/lounge to have a caricature done, by either myself or fellow artists Dan Springer and Rick Welch (both of whom I'd never had the pleasure of working with before). Apparently, this event was also held in eighteen of their other corporate locations today, so LOTS of caricaturists were working their fingers off simultaneously for a common client! (Thank you, recovering economy! :0)

And there are the three "Do you guys have carpal tunnel syndrome yet?" caricaturists afterwards...

Family Entertainment Day....

Yesterday, my first out of three gigs was an outdoor promotional event at a shopping center, my second time there this summer. I was paired with a strolling magician this time. I drew all ages at this one!

She was game for a caricature!

This lovely lady, a native New Yorker, told me my caricatures should be in Sardi's!

Mom-and-daughter caricature fans, I drew the girl on her own as well. Mom had been drawn at my previous event here.

Two teenage brothers: one wanted to be drawn, the other had to be browbeaten into it. Can you guess which one is which?

When I drew the youngest sister of this trio, I told the mom she reminded me of Vivien Leigh's baby photo( Scarlett in Gone With the Wind, I'm a big fan). I pulled up the photo on my Blackberry, and she was astounded!

Synchronicity

The Police sang about it, but it's not something on my mind most days, until...
At an afternoon gig yesterday, which was a 'family entertainment day' for a shopping center, an engaged couple came up to be caricatured. We got to talking about their impending nuptials, and I mentioned that weddng caricatures for sign-in boards were quite popular (in fact, there was a wedding yesterday that featured one of mine--I am hoping to get photos from the bride's family soon). She mentioned that they'd seen ads for the event, and came specifically to be drawn-- because she'd had their DOG caricatured nearby on Valentine's Day-- and she LOVED IT! I sat there laughing, and said, "THAT WAS ME who drew it!!!!"
The ad had merely said " have a caricature done", and she hadn't recognized me with short hair...because she then pulled out her cell phone to show me photos of me drawing her dog, and the actual caricature itself!! :-) :-) :-)

I drew some other really interesting faces, too, including the people in the stores near where I was situated, and the juggler who entertained along with me..

Grand Opening

Saturday started off with a festive grand opening for a bank. It included a DJ, face painting, moonbounces, Philly soft pretzels, caricatures ( me!) and a visit from one of the Phillies (Shane Victorino) to sign autographs. All of these enticements brought out crowds of happy people, some of whom I drew!

Grand Opening

Another chilly November day, another outdoor gig! This bank grand opening was quite comfortable, though, as I drew in a heated tent (along with a face painter, children's activities, popcorn and other goodies-- and a small band that included a steel drum!).
Matt and Stephanie, of PartyDelaware.com, ran the festivities, and here they are:
