Two-groom wedding caricatures in historic house...

It was my pleasure to draw caricatures at the spring wedding of these two gentlemen...because I was also present at their proposal (which took place at a gala fundraising event) and that was my 1st caricature of them :-)

So the wedding was long awaited and held at a lovely historic venue in Delaware. 

Did their caricature beforehand from photos, so folks could sign it as they arrived.  

Look at this lovely room where I set up!

The wedding colors were fun---purple and green.

I tried to get photos of everyone, but I know I missed a few. I managed to draw 50+ folks in 4.5 hours. :-) Whew!

There was also a tent for dining and dancing in the garden, and I managed to get a few good photos of that...:-)

3rd Birthday, Penn State style!

A recent party-style digital commission for a little guy whose family has made commissioning a caricature from me, for his birthday, into a tradition!

Homecoming/Graduation party sign-in caricature

A recent, very-fun-to-do party-style commission! The subject recently returned from a stint in the Peace Corps and is going on to graduate school. Her family gave her a surprise party, which included this sign-in caricature:

This piece was done completely via email---instead of snail-mailing the original, I scanned it and sent it to her local FedEx Office, where it was to be printed on foam-core board. My client said:

"Thank you! Everyone loved it. I gave out your website to a lot of people!"

And today ( 7-27-14) she emailed me THIS:

They printed her BIG!!! It looks like 18' x 24".

50th birthday caricature…with hot lava, ah-oh-ahh-oh-ahhh*

The last of the baby boomers are turning fifty this year…

This is my friend Cheryl, whose husband used my caricature both for a sign-in at her surprise party...

Thank you so much for the fantastic caricature.  I printed out the 11 x 14 and matted it for signing per your suggestion.  I also printed the party favors on magnet sheets using a regular ink jet printer, and used a self-service cutter at Staples.  Lastly, I printed an 8 x 10 which the supermarket bakery used to transfer the image onto a birthday cake.  Everyone loved your art work.  You really helped me make the event special. 

Live caricatures AND a caricature sign-in at a stylish wedding!

Last weekend, I drew at a looooong-ago-booked wedding…the bride is definitely more organized than I am! Well, the day finally came and they had me do both a studio caricature for a sign-in, and live caricatures at the reception:

When I asked her what her wedding color was, she said gray…

 (this is the room at Allentown Brew Works---cool place!)

with a touch of pink:

If you noticed in the top photo, their beloved canine family member was included, and the bride said he even visited during the wedding (wearing a bow tie!). The party favors were doggie-thoughtful, too!

My little area became busy immediately, of course, (plus it was next to the bar ;-) and I tried to remember to tell everyone to sign the framed caricature:

I had to video their reaction because they were so funny while I was drawing them. He told me people call him Bart…it's pretty obvious why!!

Caricatures at a lakeside wedding

Saturday's evening's event was a lovely wedding on a lake, which featured a sudden downpour right after the ceremony (that luckily didn't dampen anyone's spirits or outfits)!

The bride and groom entered their reception from near where I was set up for the cocktail hour…

…which was also where guests could put their best wishes on the sign-in caricature.

I had a steady stream of happy faces for the whole reception, which the bride asked me to stay on for (she'd originally booked me for just the cocktail and dinner hour :-)

My absolute favorite caricature of the night, though, was this bride-with-her-bridesmaids drawing! You rock, ladies!

The bride had this to say about my services:

 I cannot thank you enough. Your drawings were a HUGE hit.

It's always fun to hear live music and the band at this wedding was pretty great---I had to stop drawing for a few seconds just to get this video:

Jimmy and Brittany's wedding reception (bang! bang!)

This purple-and-blue-hued wedding reception was the third one in this family for which I've been honored to draw caricatures. It was held at a gun club:

...which meant I had the fun of drawing shotguns, bullet holes, shell-casing necklaces and a camouflage wedding gown on their airbrushed sign-in caricature (the bride didn't ACTUALLY wear camo ;)

When the room isn't being used as a banquet hall, it's a shooting range!!!!

Below: The cake was made by the groom's uncle. What artistry! And it not only looked amazing, it tasted as good as it appeared.

I've already blogged about a GIF made from photos my Other Half took for me while drawing another couple at this reception. It's always a luxury for me on the rare gig where I can bring him along to assist. He took these wonderful panoramas  and video for me, too.
