Three more drawings...
This young girl got to go out on the field with the Phanatic between innings and lift his barbells, which he can barely do....;-D
This couple was in search of a Bosox game, but settled for the Phightin' Phils instead...
This young man originally asked for a BW sketch, and when his dad got a gander at it, he was good for the extra money it cost to do it in color!

NCN Competition final results
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my entry in the NCN Face-off competition came in third place. Although it was a small field of contestants this time around (it's busy season for caricaturists, obviously) they are a high caliber of other professionals. I learn something every time I enter, and I appreciate the time Court Jones and the other judges spend mentoring each entrant's progress.
So, here is my final... illustrating the possibility that the Duchess of Windsor was a hermaphrodite, by displaying her pet rooster!
(The first and second place finishers also had somewhat racy themes but were tastefully done).
Here is what I won..a preliminary charcoal sketch from Court's current project, Aragorn from LOTR...
I'm looking forward to the next Face-off...

Charming couples in Charm City...
I had some very interesting subjects today in Baltimore. One couple traveled 3000 miles to see their team, the Oakland A's, play the Orioles; another had a red-blond-and-blue mohawked gentleman and puffy-haired red-headed lady; and the last couple asked me to showcase the girl's extremely looong fingers in a rather rude way (she said she did it alot!)

Hot and humid conditions...
...are found around indoor swimming pools, but this evening there was a caricaturist amid the moisture! I've only done outdoor pool parties in the past, so this little girl's birthday was a first for me. I got splashed just a bit, but my paper was fine. My camera stayed packed away except for these two photos: one of the guests and the lifeguard!

A Close Encounter...
...of the Phanatic kind!
The Phillies mascot is a favorite of many baseball fans-- even fans of other teams love him. The other night, at the Phillies Phestival, he decided to prey on the poor caricaturist (me) and my subject (whose finished caricature is in the previous post). First, he SAT on the young man's lap, then he proceeded to cover my eyes with his shirt! Thanks to Junior and Trey for sending me these photos. By the way, over $700,000 was raised for Lou Gehrig's disease research that evening. Way to go, Philadelphians!

Another Sunday afternoon in a ballpark...
I'm a little bit crazy...
..because on Saturday I fit in two more gigs after the post prom, then I did a SECOND post prom early this morning. I only took a few photos because my brain had enough to cope with just driving, setting up, drawing, and packing up each time!
First gig was a Communion party at a beautiful historic restaurant with a water wheel under it. I drew all the kids first and then they went outside to play, but I was pleased to get these photos of the grandparents...
Then I drew for a couple of hours at the ballgame. This lovely lady visiting from Texas wanted a gift for her Phillies-fan boyfriend...hope he likes it!
Finally, I did another post prom not far from home. This school had a fitting theme: James Bond---the class of 2-double 0-7...get it? Fun stuff!

Afternoon baseball delight ?
Phillies fans got to see more than a baseball game today...a beer-bellied streaker got onto the field and security guards gave chase. While this was going on, I was drawing a couple who asked to have a loudspeaker showing the announcer's home run catchphrase---"This ball's OUTTA HEEERE" to which I amended:
"This ball (and streaker!!) are OUTTA HERE!!
And no, I did not draw the streaker...

Happy Mother's Day...
My daughter Madeline and my son's girlfriend Sam came today to take in a Phillies vs. Cubs game, so there are actually some photos from a different vantage point than my own. (Thank you Sam!)
Here's something I don't see while I am drawing: the line!
Here's Madeline and I in front of the stand:
And finally, the artist ( me, that is) and the tools of my trade!
