Retroactive first winner on my FB free caricature contest...

This lady has commented and "liked" her way to a free digital caricature:
I don't know her personally but she has been a fan of my work for a long time, and often has nice things to say on my FB fan page about my eccentric vocation in life. So when I decided to run a contest there, she was both an inspiration and the obvious first recipient! This is her with her beloved uncle. I decided to make it a cartoon-style digital one.
Thank you Dianne!!

Free Caricature Contest on my FB page...

I've decided to offer a monthly free caricature to people who connect with me on my FB fan page:
Since it's mid-month, there's two weeks left to go before I'll choose a winner, but I do have a retroactive free caricature that went out yesterday to the person who inspired me to do this! I'll post about that tomorrow!

Contest winners!

Way back in August, when I was drawing on the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. I ran a little contest on my FB page. Entrants had to post a photo of the caricature I'd done for them there. I pulled a name randomly in September, and then...procrastinated. Admittedly, it's been a busy year for me, but still! The winner and her husband waited patiently, and have now received their airbrush caricature just   in time for the holidays.
Here is a link to a rather good article about artistic procrastination, but it applies to other types as well.

Another FBer is displaying my caricature :-)

for her profile pic!

Thanks Morgan! I shouldn't admit to having favorite drawings, but your expression made your caricature one of my faves from the fair!
And thanks to everyone who's joined my Caricatures by Emily Facebook page. I just topped the 600 mark for "likers" since FB doesn't call them "fans " anymore. My 'likers' are a mix of people who have actually seen me draw at events, and others who have stumbled across my work on FB, since I've never used their paid promotion for fan pages. Thanks again everybody!
