September Wedding Caricatures!

 September is a beautiful month to have a wedding at a country club! And to have MINI-caricatures for the guests at the reception! But first, the bride and groom's deluxe, color. large caricature:

I was set up right at the edge of the ballroom:

...and I had an eager line for three hours straight. In that time, since there was a steady supply of faces, I was able to draw SIXTY people! I was doing my line-drawing-only speed mode as MINI-caricatures, on blue paper. Here are ALL of them!

...and the last one was of a guest who had gone home already, but her mom had a great photo of her!

What a wonderful evening, it was a total pleasure to be a part of it!

Beautiful Barn wedding reception with caricatures!

 A beautiful pastoral setting in Lancaster County, Bluestone Estate,  was chosen for this lovely wedding reception,  for which I was so thrilled to draw caricatures. The bride's mom had booked me, which is such a lovely gift to the couple! (This is great idea for a wedding gift, by the way!)

The bride and groom were adorable, and here's their entrance and caricature reaction!

I had a lovely view of the ceremony!

Rustic wedding reception caricatures

Saturday's wedding reception was held in the afternoon, at The Creamery of Kennett Square...I'd been here at events several times before, but never the outdoor back section, which was lovely! The actual wedding had occurred earlier in the week, so this was a very relaxed and casual celebration.

The bride and groom were drawn beforehand from photos and their little son was included...folks signed the mat while I drew 62 guests in three hours...mini-caricatures AND my line-drawing-only mode.

At the end, I got to enjoy a cookie that in concept sounds crazy but was actually good...a chocolate-chip with potato chips!

The bride had this to say in an email afterwards:

"Thank you so much Emily, the guests had SO MUCH FUN with you!"

A Teal and Apricot-colored wedding with caricatures!

This was the color scheme, for this lovely wedding reception at a golf course in Wilmington, Delaware.

I drew on teal and apricot toned paper:

These are my  FAST unshaded line drawing caricatures, since there were more than 100 guests---and I was able to draw more than half of them!

So...the bride and groom were my final of the night...and they spent most of their time on the dance floor, hence the un-tuxed groom.  Here's a link to their adorable reaction.

Emily was simply amazing! Professional and fun! All the guests loved their pictures. If you are on the fence don't be.. book Emily for that extra personal touch.

Heartfelt wedding caricature and their retro-music reception

 This couple had one of the most heartwarming reactions I have ever had to a wedding caricature. 

Here is my drawing they are reacting to:

Their first dance was to "Kiss me once, Kiss me twice" and there was lots more music like that played at the reception...so sweet!

Ok, to backtrack a bit:

I arrived at sunset to the venue, a popular brewery restaurant in Allentown PA.

When I looked out that window shown above, I could see my car was the only one in the parking garage across the street! LOL! The lonely little car on the bottom left above the lobby!

When the guests arrived in the elevator, things started to swing....really! with that classic 40's music!

And I started drawing:

This last couple walked me to my car since the entrance to the parking garage 

was on a side street..so thoughtful! And yup, it was STILL the only car in there! 

(the wedding guests were all shuttled in from a hotel.)

If you're on the fence about booking a caricature artist, don't be. We booked Emily for our wedding and she was such a great addition to our day. Emily was professional, on time, she was outstanding with our guests and her rates are super competitive. Everyone who had a piece drawn by her has framed them in their house and our guests are still raving about the experience. This was such a nice and unique addition to our wedding and I'm really glad we decided to add Emily last minute. My only regret is not booking her for a longer period of time, so I definitely recommend having her available at your cocktail hour and entire reception!
