Wild Wildwood wedding caricatures!

I've been delving a little more into doing beach-town weddings, if they are in the Cape May/Wildwood NJ area, since I have a generous friend with a beach cottage, where I can stay overnight. ( I am getting to the age where driving a long distance home--after a intense evening of caricaturing---is...not fun). This lively wedding reception was practically under one of the famous Wildwood signs (there are several!) and most of the guests were from Delco, PA (as am I, originally) and that is a THING NOW!! (Maybe even more so if you are Delco Irish! ;-)

Cocktail hour started off on one end of the deck right on the marina:
This reception was very large, so my line-drawing-only style caricatures made
quick work of everyone's face...
Once the reception proper began, I moved in closer to the dance floor and continued on my merry way!
I took a photo of the bride and groom, and worked on their caricature during the toasts and first dances. Her hairdo was fun to draw!!

As the night wore on, everyone enjoyed the seafood, the libations, the dancing, the wonderful salty air, and my caricatures! Thanks for having me, Jackie and Kit!

Fabulous pink-and-gold wedding caricatures!

Gorgeous bride and handsome groom!!

This wedding was held at an elegant golf club, on a hill in NJ, from which the skyline of Philadelphia could be seen (below, just to the left of middle)

The cocktail hour was held on the terrace, so I started out there, to general merriment:

Then everyone went inside a glamorous ballro0m:

Now for some caricatures!

Thank you for having me!!

Lakeside wedding caricatures!

I travelled a bit further afield than I usually do...to draw caricatures at this fun couple's wedding reception in Sparta, NJ. I had previously met them when they were guests at a wedding I did in 2021. They were nice enough to provide me with a hotel room, so I would not have to drive more than 100 miles home, late at night after their festivities ended.  Thankful for that!

I started out outside on the deck for the cocktail hour, then moved indoors...my setup is on the right:

You can see their wedding caricature on the left-side easel, they had me do a studio wedding caricature to be displayed as a sign-in at the reception, (I got to include their beloved CAT! They also love a certain rodent, so I slipped that in subtly, hee hee..) here is a better look at that:

I'll show you the bride and groom, then we'll get into the guests!

Ok, these are from cocktail hour: top left is the couple whose wedding was the catalyst for my being at this one:

Then we all trooped inside and got down to reception niceties!

The mirror was positioned just so...there's the caricature artist!

Thanks for having me, Michelle and Dan!

Corporate event Caricatures on the Moshulu!

This was a last-minute booking (and I mean the day-of, from my fellow caricaturist, Harringtoon!) I left my afternoon event in Lancaster and arrived to this one in Philly JUST IN TIME!

Here's the view from onboard the Moshulu!

Myself, Deb Anderson and Pat Harrington!

I had a good view of the iconic Ben Franklin Bridge from my easel!

Below: Pat and Deb at work:

A stunningly beautiful sunset graced our gig, which was a corporate cocktail party:

I definitely took more scenery photos than caricature photos at this one. Here are a couple of my drawings from that night!
This one was a hoot, they said it would be hung in their office!

Wish these weren't so blurry, but boy did I get fun reaction shots!

Hahaha!---love the lady's perplexed look!

Now, for some glamorous nighttime Philly photos:

Thanks, Pat!

Wedding Reception Caricatures at an oft-visited venue

I think this was the third  or fourth wedding I've done at The Manor House at Prophecy Creek over the years. And each time, I am amazed by a giant tree just outside the glass ballroom, and by how cool of a place it is. This gig came to me last minute, because one of the two artists booked for it, tested positive for Covid. So, the other artist, my friend Chris Snee of Bucks County Caricatures, asked me if I was available..and I was!

Here's the wonderful bride and groom:

Here are some guests:

...and here's Chris and I, my setup, and the giant tree!

All-night fund-raiser caricatures!

I did this school's event prior to the pandemic, so it was great to be back helping keep the high-schoolers awake and entertained while they raised money to fight pediatric cancer! Since there were hundreds of students, I did just line-drawing-only caricatures and got through about 60 faces in the three hours I was drawing. Thanks for having me, U-ville!

Ya wanna see some CARICATURE REACTIONS? I have CARICATURE REACTIONS...

Those last three had me cracking up too. ;-D
