Halloween Silhouettes at Jerry's!

I didn't have any gig this year on actual Halloween, so I decided to hang out somewhere and get some practice cutting silhouettes, in costume. The 'somewhere' was my local artists' haunt: Jerry's Artarama in Wilmington, Delaware. Yes, I wore my much-loved witch outfit, with a new (smaller) hat.
Most of my subjects were students at DCAD, which was right down the street, and very appreciative of my scissor artistry.

Philadelphia 76ers Caricature T-shirts for Home Opener 2017-18 Season!!!

I had a BIG commission recently :-)
Our hometown NBA team, the Philadelphia 76ers, had me do digital caricatures of the starting lineup, to be printed on 22,000+ t-shirts....to be given away to fans on Opening Night!!!!!

I walked into Wells Fargo Center and was totally awed, to see them all splayed out on the seats, pre-game:

The official Sixers Instagram that night: 41,000+ views!!
L-R: Robert Covington, Ben Simmons, JJ Reddick, Coach Brett Brown, Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid.

Dario is pictured below with more buzz about the shirt:

The Sixers also had me doing some live caricatures on the concourse during the first half of the game...
next to a big sign with my caricatures on it!

Next, two cool overhead vantage points: (good view of the balloon guy next to me)

Above: my cousin by marriage came along too, he's a rabid Philly sports fan. After the first half, we (and my hubby) headed for a nice meal overlooking the court:
..where we could see thousands of folks wearing the caricature shirts!!! woo hoo!
Here's a few more of them:
Below on the big screen: Both the announcer and the guy he's talking to are wearing one!
What a night!!! It was also my first NBA game ever.
Hope the 76ers have a GREAT season!!!! :-)

Bridal shower/bachelorette party: caricatures AND silhouettes!

This, to date, is the ONLY party where I've done BOTH caricatures and silhouettes. So this small group of ladies got the best of both my performance arts! First, the bride-to-be:
Then she and her sister and friends, with their silhouettes:
The bride got two silhouettes, one with her hair and one with her little faux veil.

Then with their caricatures, including a group drawing. Can you tell that wine-drinking was a heavily favored theme?

Here's a closer look at the group caricature:

and a few of the silhouettes:
After I finished, they insisted that enjoy some refreshments, then I joined them as the bride opened her presents. Thank you, ladies, and thank you Gigmasters!

Friggatriskadekaphobia Silhouettes

What is Friggatriskadekaphobia? It's fear of the number 13.
So, on Friday the 13th, I became a member of the "Friggatriskadekaphobia Treatment Team"---cutting silhouettes at the opening icebreaker for the Pennsylvania Humanist and Atheist convention, held in Philadelphia.
(None of us are actual doctors or nurses, we just play them at conventions!)
I didn't take many photos, but my husband, who also attended, was able to get a time-lapse video of my cutting skills!

College morale-booster caricatures

I headed downstate to draw at a university party, held in their large cafeteria...this is just MY corner of it...
lots of smiling faces and a huge variety of hairstyles greeted me!

There were more ladies than guys, but I drew a few of those too!
Yay to campus fun!

Caricatures at garden wedding, garden shed reception

On a perfect autumn evening, I was outside drawing at a garden wedding reception...
There were two grooms, and their parents walked them each down the aisle...
Immediately after the ceremony, the cocktail hour commenced and here's two of the caricatures I did outside...
Then we all moved inside, and I was directed to set up in this lovely room near the bar:
But folks weren't really congregating there so I gathered my stuff and went out to the dining room--luckily it's all very portable!
THEN I got busy!

Finally, the two grooms! Best wishes to you both!!
