Holiday gig #12 of 2015...a wedding!!

The week before Christmas, this couple got hitched and celebrated in grand style in a fabulous, historic venue. They were in such demand that the only photo I was able to get of them was as they waited to be announced...but I am getting ahead of myself. Look at this incredible architecture!!!!
Since it was such a festive occasion, my new wedding jewelry got a wearing again (I was a bride of a few weeks at the time!)
I started out in the magnificent foyer for the cocktail hour.
Here's a few I did there...
Then it was time to head to the ballroom:
Thank you and congratulations, Cheryl and Jean Michel!!!
This event came through Gigmasters and Cheryl left me some very appreciated feedback:

Emily was simply amazing. Everyone (from 3-85) enjoyed her artwork and it was a big hit at our wedding. I can't tell you how many people told me how much they loved the pictures. My husband and I will cherish the portraits that she did of us. I can definitely recommend her, she was great.

Soccer-themed 10th Birthday Party Caricatures!

Soccer is one popular sport! I've done more soccer parties than football parties (hmmm.)
She even had soccer cakes!
As per my custom, I drew all the kids first and then had time for some grown-ups (hey hey!)

and don't forget the grandpa with the cigar!!!

Holiday gig #11 of 2015...

I draw for this group every year. They are like old friends now!
The gig came to me originally through a caricaturist friend who sadly passed away last year, Bob Miele. The client and I miss him and his humor, along with many, many others.

Holiday gig #10 of 2015...

...was a corporate holiday luncheon held in this space, courtesy of the-nose.com. I've done events in the grand ballroom area of this venue but I'd never seen the top floor before.
Pretty nice!

They displayed them for the duration.  :-)

Holiday gig #9 of 2015...

...was for some eye surgeons and their staff. Working eyeballs are necessary equipment for a caricaturist---so I told them I hypothetically appreciated their skills just as they appreciated mine!

50th Birthday Celebration at a riverside mansion

 Can you believe she's 50? I couldn't, either.

My afternoon at her party began by finding a spectacular parking spot!!
The party was being held on the banks of the Susquehanna River, in a glorious old mansion. My easel and I were situated on the big stone porch:
Here are some of the faces I drew that afternoon:

along with some reactions:
The afternoon was lovely, and so was the sunset:

When I left, it was full dark, but still pretty!
Happy birthday, Jenine, and thanks for having me!

Sporty Bar Mitzvah celebration

He likes Philly sports teams!!!
Here's the scene before the guests arrived:
Then, THIS!!
I gotta say, thirteen-year-old boys are fun to be around.
Not every guest was a thirteen-year-old boy, though.
Here's the whole crew:
Yes , I drew most of these kids!! :-)
Thanks for having me!!!!

Wedding Caricatures for a fun-loving couple...

The groom booked me through Gigmasters  (usually it's the brides who do that) to draw caricatures at their wedding festivities...

It was a very child-friendly reception:

Then the adults got in line for me!

Congratulations, Dr. Nancy and Dr. Hook! ;-)
The groom left me some very appreciated feedback on my Gigmasters profile, thanks, Ian!
"Emily was amazing. My wedding (6/12/2016 in Monroe, NJ) had 30 kids < 18 years old in attendance. Emily was able to draw them in groups, keep them engaged, and managed not to lose her sanity in the process! She was a consummate professional and and drew lovely caricature portraits for adults as well. I only wish she had taken time to eat! I would definitely recommend Emily for any event. Her style was a perfect bled of portrait-style and cartoon-ish embellishment, depending on what the subject wanted. My (now wife) and I got our portraits done last, and they came out amazing. it's been framed already and it one of our favorite keepsakes from the day."
