Gala Fundraiser MINI-Caricatures!

One of my brides from last year is also the events person for a special animal-loving non-profit in Maryland. She thought my mini-caricatures would be a good fit for her guests at their annual fundraiser--and they were! I was booked from 6-10 pm and I had a line from beginning to end, which makes it easy to gauge my drawing speed...

Here's the collage I sent my client: it shows I drew 59 faces, in 32 drawings, done in four hours.

Hmmmm, so 4 x 60= 240 minutes. 240/59 = 4.067. So, approximately 4 minutes per face...60 minutes divided by 4= 15. I drew15 (shaded) faces per hour! I usually advertise that I can do 12-14 shaded B/W faces per hour, so I exceeded it a bit. That's what having a constant influx of couples will do.

Next: The venue was AMAZING! The party was held in the Roundhouse at the B & O Railroad Museum, we were surrounded by old steam locomotives... I was seated by the 305, which saw service dring the American Civil War.

Here's the Ambiance Reel.

I drew some animals too:

Thanks to my lovely repeat client for having me!

2026 Valentine Caricatures Part 2

On Valentine's Day itself, I donned the same sweater as the day before's gig (my close to 30-years-old Quacker Factory bought-from-QVC one---it has hearts all over the front of it) to head out to another senior residence to draw at their formal dinner...

It was a little too warm to wear it, so I draped it on my chair.

Decorated my banner too!

Here are some of the loving couples who passed before my easel:

And some assorted others: single, mom and kid, BFFs, group of four, and son with parents!

Thank you to another repeat client for having me!! Happy Valentine's Day!

2026 Valentine Caricatures Part 1

On Friday, I drew Valentine caricatures at a senior residence just outside of Philly...in their memory care unit, so I took photos only of my drawings...what a joy to make these folks smile! And they did!

Here are a few out of the many:

Here's one that made it to the mantel in the lounge:
While I was drawing, a fox literally came right up to the window next to me, I didn't have my phone ready enough to get a close-up, but I got this:

This was my view going home. The light is lasting longer every day!

Thank you to my repeat client for having me back again!
