College Caricatures, first festivity in new campus building!

Spent a Leap Day evening drawing Swarthmore College students, with colleague Dan Freed! The occasion was the first festivity held in their newly-opened Dining Hall/Student Lounge building.

Even the cafeteria ladies wanted in on the action!

Thanks for having us!

7th Birthday Caricatures, T-swift style!

This little sweetheart looooooves Taylor Swift, so her party was themed that way, big-time!
I drew her first before any of her friends had arrived:
I had printed a drawing I had recently done of Taylor on all my papers, so the birthday girl and all her friends got a caricature of her as well!
Then I got to work doing my line-drawing-only (speedy) mode of caricature:

The decor  and the goodies were pretty perfect!

Thanks so much--to a very good party-giving mom, and The Bash!

Shake it off, indeed!

Silhouettes at the Delaware Bridal Expo

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon cutting silhouettes of future brides (and others!) at the Delaware Bridal Expo, held at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. It was slow to start, then chaotically busy. My husband was along to take photos and chat up folks in my massive line!

Many of the people I chatted with had never seen a live silhouette artist, and had no idea it could be done as entertainment/wedding favors at receptions. I gave out so many business cards I was worried I wouldnt have any left!

My husband took a lot of time-lapse videos, which I will be putting up on my Youtube when I get a chance. Til then, here are a couple of Instagram links:

Sweetheart Dance Caricatures

Valentine's Day 2024 approached, along with my annual date with eight other caricaturists: at a Sweetheart (Father-Daughter) Dance. Mr David C. Perry runs this one and we all draw on his pre-printed papers:

This event always has hundreds of guests, and somehow we always get them all done in two hours!

Afterwards, a few of us went to a diner and ate a well-earned, hearty meal!
