A 60th Birthday Caricature, drawn in a VERY popular and fun restaurant...

On Saturday, my caricature skills were part of a very happy and close-knit group's celebration for this elegant lady's 60th birthday. She was on the dance floor most of the night, but I managed to get her to sit for me:
Here is her color caricature, with her lovely daughter, the party hostess (and my client).
My set up was adjacent to some mirrored walls, behind me was a long table where my subjects sat, as there were multiple groups having their own celebrations, in one large room of this VERY popular and busy restaurant:
I stayed busy! Here are a few of my drawings:

And I got to draw the hostess with her lifelong friends. :-)
Thank you for having me at your mom's party and for the delicious Uzbeki specialties you sent me home with! My hubby wants to go there to have a proper meal now! :-)

Wedding Caricatures...I'd previously drawn at the bride's brother's wedding!

I'm thrilled when my caricatures become a family tradition!
The bride's brother and sister-in-law had me at their wedding reception three years ago. :-)
This one, in a nice, well-appointed hotel, was a joy...the guests were all very happy to be drawn, I did the bride and groom as my finale, (which is how I like to end my line at receptions) and it was just a great night for all. :-)
I had a well-lit corner right where folks could enjoy watching...
the bride and groom made their entrance, and I then got busy too!

and finally, a CARICATURE REACTION!
Thanks Demi and Chris, and best wishes!
This is typical of a good night of caricaturing...being the LAST to leave! ;-)

MORE caricatures at the Reading Terminal Market!

Last week's event  at the RTM went so well, they had me back again for another group of convention-goers! This one was 95% guys. The lady (she was the second or third of the whole evening) was the last person I drew. Thanks for having me!

Silhouettes at the Irish Festival! with time-lapse videos

My hubby is Irish and I'm 25%, so we love going to the MD Irish Festival in the autumn.  This year I again did silhouettes for donations to MD Irish Charities, It is such a fun vibe there (but it's always chilly in the big, unheated fairground building). My husband took some cool time-lapse videos of my cutting skills for me.

Awww!!!

Caricatures at Jordan's Extravaganza!!

Gigsalad brought me together with a client who was giving a big celebration for her daughter that was more like a Sweet 16 or a Quinceanera, only it wasn't called that...it was Jordan's Extravaganza!
My caricatures weren't the only entertainment for the lucky guests, there was also a stilt walker:
and a Michael Jackson impersonator:
The guest of honor got a singing telegram telling her how much she is loved:
...while I was drawing her Disney-Princess-vibe caricature!
She and her dad had made their entrance right in front of my spot:
Then I got busy with the guests:
It was hard to get good photos because of the amazing lighting effects all around the room. What an amazing night! Thank you for having me!!!

Caricatures at a TUESDAY wedding!

This imposing mansion was the setting for a BEAUTIFUL wedding ceremony and reception. Like me, the groom is a small business owner who performs on weekends...hence the Tuesday wedding date. :-)
I love how old houses feel...my set up was at the bottom of the elegant staircase that the bride was about to come down...
Here comes the bride!!! The groom is waiting for his first look...
Yes, this brought tears to my eyes. :-)
Then they went into the main room, to much fanfare,
and I got busy with drawing caricatures!

My finale was the bride and groom..
Caricature Reaction!
They were both such sweethearts! Thank you for having me!
