Silhouettes at a Quinceanera!

On Saturday, I had the privilege of being a part of this gorgeous, Victorian-inspired Quinceanera, held in a clubhouse in mid-Delaware. The young woman celebrated her 15th birthday and entrance into
ladyhood with her family and friends, and my silhouettes, via The Bash!

My client even asked me to add another hour to my contracted time, as the guests were absolutely delighted to get a silhouette...I cut out 50 profiles in three hours...here they ALL are!

One of the guests was a superb confectioner....
she made these incredible marzipan-decorated rice-krispie treats. I took this one home!

Thank you for having my silhouettes! Here is the review my client posted on The Bash:

Having a silhouette artist in our activity was an incredible experience. God has truly blessed her with an amazing talent.

Initially, we had agreed on a two-hour session, but we decided to extend it for an additional hour because the guests

thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Loved it!

Quinceanera Caricatures!

This is the second Quinceanera I have gotten to do this summer! They are so much fun and at this one I was able to see this young lady's AMAZING dress!! SO beautiful! This was my view of her before she made her grand entrance....
I had drawn caricatures at her parents wedding, and her when she was a little girl!

Her event was held in a quaint stone barn, at a bed & breakfast that was far off the main road, so it was totally secluded and perfect for celebrating with all her friends.
(I'd actually done a Sweet 16 here some years ago)

It was a very rose gold and hot pink kind of night!
There were some guys there too!

And some parent-child duos:

Here is she is with her caricature, and me!

Quinceanera Caricatures!

A previous corporate client turned into a regular (and repeat) client,

by booking me for her niece's fabulous Quinceanera!

Here they are! (I arrived and started after the birthday girl had changed into her 2nd beautiful dress, so I don't have a photo of the blue confection she wore to the earlier ceremony. )

The banquet facility was lavishly dressed in royal blue and gold:

You can see my spot to the right, below.

This was such a FUN party, everyone was exuberantly celebrating!
Mom/daughter, and Mom/son caricatures!

Here's two more reels from this event:    Reel 1.   Reel 2.
Since I took photos of everyone at this one, I know my caricature speed: 53 shaded B/W faces
in four hours = 13.33333 faces per hour, at 4.5 minutes each.

Thank you for having me, Francheska and family!!!

Caricatures at Jordan's Extravaganza!!

Gigsalad brought me together with a client who was giving a big celebration for her daughter that was more like a Sweet 16 or a Quinceanera, only it wasn't called that...it was Jordan's Extravaganza!
My caricatures weren't the only entertainment for the lucky guests, there was also a stilt walker:
and a Michael Jackson impersonator:
The guest of honor got a singing telegram telling her how much she is loved:
...while I was drawing her Disney-Princess-vibe caricature!
She and her dad had made their entrance right in front of my spot:
Then I got busy with the guests:
It was hard to get good photos because of the amazing lighting effects all around the room. What an amazing night! Thank you for having me!!!

Quinceanera Caricatures!

After finishing at my morning gig, next up was a Quinceanera in this festively decorated hall, for a young lady I'd previously caricatured five years ago at a school event. (See why my website address is on every live caricature that leaves my hard-working hands? ;-)
Of course, the girl of the hour was wearing a lovely, princessy dress and a tiara:
Her friends and family enjoyed sitting for me:
The other entertainment was the birthday girl herself. She played guitar and sang confidently and beautifully!
Thank you so much for having me, Katelyn and family! You've grown up into a lovely lady since I last drew you. ;-)
