Cape May NJ beach wedding caricatures!

Cape May is a gorgeous little Victorian town on the very tip of southern New Jersey. The main street is full of quaint little historic hotels, quite a few of which are perfect venues for beach weddings! This adorable couple included my caricatures in their celebrations, at the Peter Shields Inn.

I loved the lavender color scheme!

Thanks for having me, Tara and Matt! :-)

More late-night Project Grad caricatures...

I've always been a night owl. Late night gigs are enjoyable for me...and my subjects!

                                              Got home at 3:30 am...Goodnight!!!!!

Greek wedding caricatures!

One of swankiest venues for a wedding reception in the entire city of Philadelphia is the Ballroom at the Ben, in the Ben Franklin Hotel. So I wore my fanciest hat, to draw caricatures for the happy couple and their guests!
When I arrived, there was a dance performance going on, you can just see the bride and groom in front of the flower-bedecked wall:
The groom requested that I do my line-drawing-only caricatures, so as to be able to draw even more guests. Here is how they came out, to the delight of my sitters!
These two ladies were a hoot--they loved that I wrote BFF on their caricature!

Project Grad caricatures---with a quartet of caricaturists!

Late-night gigs require stamina... and caffeine! It's the only time of year I drink Red Bull...
this school held their festivities in a big sports complex.

Here's some pics of my three caricaturist colleagues, Pat, Terry and John, whom I drew along with that MORNING---they had us in various places in the complex (we finished at 2 am--yikes!!!)

I'm the only rebel who no longer uses a French easel:
My little drawing table is MUCH lighter and easier to schlep around.

Caricatures at Havre de Grace wedding on the water

On a balmy summer late afternoon in June....someone's memorable waterfront wedding happened...and my caricatures were there too!

The bride and groom had actually been drawn at a holiday party I did last year, and thought having me at their wedding reception would be fun (of course, it was!) They actually used that caricature as a sign in:

I'm getting ahead of myself, but here are the color caricatures of the bride and groom, and their new blended family, that I did as my finale at the reception:

This was an especially scenic venue: Havre de Grace is a beautiful, historic town bordering the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay...and the venue was right on the water, too!

They had lots to occupy the children who attended, so thoughtful!

A  beautiful bride. :) I am usually situated somewhere where I can photograph her on her way in...

Now I am going to show you ALL the wedding guests that I drew.

So, that's 26 people in shaded B/W, and six people in full color, two of whom were the full-length bride and groom, in three hours. 32 people total. Lots of happy folks told me they'd never seen a caricaturist at a wedding reception before. I replied, you won't forget this one now, will you?!

"We are going to FRAME THIS!" ;-)

The sun was setting as I left. Gorgeous spot!!! Thanks for having me!

Eighth-grade graduation celebration caricatures!

This school books me every year for their eight graders' graduation celebration, held in the school's all-purpose room. I'm usually slammed so there aren't many photos...just a boy and a girl this time. Congrats Class of 2019!

High School Grad Party Caricatures!

A beautiful summer's day, on a weekend in June, has a good chance of finding this caricaturist at a GRAD PARTY!

I like to draw graduates in their cap and gown, setting off for college! This guy was heading off to Drexel U.

They had a tent set up just for me:
Lots of guests were thrilled to get a caricature:

and these girls had a FUN caricature reaction:
Left on a sugar rush ;-)
Thanks for having me!

Company Picnic Caricatures!

Kids, dogs, couples, I draw EVERYBODY!!
This company (which sells and repairs copy machines) hires me every couple of years to draw caricatures at their summer picnic. They are the only people who never say to me, "which one of us gets to keep the drawing?"

Thanks for having me again, Bart! and for the great feedback on Gigsalad:
