More corporate gift caricatures...

…with their amused recipients, in Germany!
My little Wacom Intuos 4 has certainly been standing up to heavy usage this month. These three digital caricatures were printed here, framed, and flown over with the gentleman in the gray shirt (he's in two of the caricatures, too) to be presented as gifts from his company.
Here's a closer look:
I love including in-jokes.
This one was pretty complex. I love that he's holding flaming pellets!
More silliness. So happy to know these will be putting smiles on their faces every time they look at them. :-)

Who says corporate presentations have to be snooze-fests?

They're not so boring if you liven them up with caricatures!
The client told me via phone this morning that the recipients LOVED them.
They're all examples of my cartoon-style digital caricature, using some tweaked body templates (I drew two male bodies and used them repeatedly, with small changes to individualize them.) The one lady got her very own exclusive body. ;-)
This project was a lot of fun for me (I mean, LOOK at all those great faces!) and the client was great in providing photos I could work from easily.
I think I may have to reiterate that I  love my job. ;-)

Recent digital commission….of a group of beach-lovin' ladies

This is a recent digital cartoon-style caricature I did, of a group of friends, two of whom are sisters. (Can you tell which two?) My client sent me a photo of it on the wall, underneath what looks like another caricature!
Here's what she had to say:
"It looks awesome! I can't believe how you've captured our likenesses. Thank you"

Grad commissions...

Every June, I draw a few cap-and-gowns for party-sign-ins and this year was no exception...
Congrats to all!

50th anniversary digital caricature being put to use

Nothing makes me happier (in a caricature sense:-) than seeing my commissions do their thing! I just received this photo from an anniversary party held this past weekend for a long-married couple:
It looks like it was printed full size on 18 x 24 foam core board (something I recommend clients do at Fedex Office, which used to be Kinko's. They do a good job.) and the guests are signing on the background, which is the couple's wedding color from 1962.  My client (their daughter) told me she printed the party-favor versions (I send a sheet with every commission)  on magnet paper and gave them to guests. What a great idea, I'll be sure to tell future clients that one. Thank you!!
Here is the artwork:
Congrats to you both!!

Event poster

Recently, I was commissioned to provide a digital caricature drawing to advertise for a family fitness day--they already had the color scheme of red, blue and yellow, so I carried that over into the finished piece. Aren't you motivated by this trainer's friendly smile? :-)
This is an example of my "painted-style" digital caricatures.

Retirement caricature

Another recent digital commission: this one was particularly fun for squeezing in all his interests and specialties...

Some summer birthday digital commissions...

Some fun-to-draw commissions came to me recently! Both of these are examples of my "cartoon-style" digital caricatures. By that, I mean they are black outlined, minimally color-shaded depictions of the honoree, something like what you might see in MAD magazine...
She likes shopping and potato chips!
And she likes a particular football player!

Doggie caricatures...

Yes, I draw dogs too! This digital canine cartoon caricature will be used on invitations to a wedding rehearsal dinner at--what else could it be?-- an Italian restaurant.
I love wall-eyed dogs!

Update: Here is what the client said when she saw it: "I love this.  I think it is so amazing!  This is incredible.”
