3rd Birthday, Penn State style!

A recent party-style digital commission for a little guy whose family has made commissioning a caricature from me, for his birthday, into a tradition!
Happy b-day Aven! :-)

Caricatures just add to the general joy at wedding receptions....

...and this one in particular was full of contagious smiles and laughter. I arrived early enough to see the bride and groom enter as Mr. and Mrs...and their first dance---to my favorite first-dance song. You know, the one by Elvis...
Once guests arrived in my chairs, I was busy for the rest of the evening. My first sitters, below, came over twenty minutes before I started and staked out their claim ;-)
This guy implored me to "do your worst"...
So I did!
A family caricature---she looks serious here but that changed when she saw it!
These are the bride's parents---loved their smiles!!
And here are the lovely bride and handsome groom!!!!!
Congratulations, Jill and Joseph, and thank you for having me! (Another happy event that came to me through Gigmasters :-)

Vroooom vroooooom caricatures!

On Saturday afternoon, some threatening skies kept the crowds small at a Harley-Davidson parking lot party, but the folks who were there got some cool caricatures from me!
I drew EVERYBODY on a motorcycle!
I moved my easel around a bit to where the people were congregating, and to avoid the drizzle. It
never did actually pour, luckily.
The dealership had me take donations towards their favorite charity, and
even provided a sign for my easel.
Thanks to Bette's Bounces for the booking! :-)

Mini-Golf course celebrates 50 years in business...

....with caricatures! I'd actually taken my kids here to play many years ago, so it was cool to see this cute little stone house on the course again. They've added a castle now!
Easel and I were situated on a quaint little porch area:
First up was an employee and her little one:
I LOVED drawing his hair!!!
Giggly teenage girls:
The always popular 'bunny ears' schtick:
Their parents decided to get one, too:
And I drew til it got full dark. :-)
Thanks to 513 Entertainment for having me there! :-)

Welcoming college freshmen...

...with caricatures, during moving-into-dorms-then-party day!
After laughing uproariously, they (and their moms) walked aside and all took photos of the caricature.
Reactions!! ;-)
I drew lots of female roomies:
Lest you think I drew all ladies, here's a guy, and his reaction:
The sun was setting and the inflatables were collapsing when I finally packed up the easel. :-)

Backyard 76th birthday party

Set up to draw at a 76th birthday celebration for a family matriarch:
Of course, she got the tiara---and the only color caricature! ;-)
I drew everyone to the sounds of some young tween DJs and later, karaoke!
They extended my time (thank you!)and then they fed me! :-) Yum!
Happy birthday Mary, and thanks very much for having me!

Rockin' Sweet 16

My second event last weekend was a type of party I always enjoy, a Sweet 16. This one was especially fun, as the birthday girl had opted for a theme near to my heart....rock stars...such as the Beatles....lots of Fab Four images adorned both the walls and the guests!
I couldn't decide which of my numerous Beatles t-shirts to wear, so I opted for Freddie instead!
The birthday girl was representing Green Day.
They knew how to throw a party! It was held in a parish hall/gym so guests could shoot hoops, chat, eat, and dance to the music all in the same room.
I was busy the whole time and saw so many band names emblazoned on chests...The Ramones, Nirvana, Guns'N'Roses, Kiss, Taylor Swift, and One Direction (many of the girls had been to their concert the night before) were just a few.
Dad and Mom opted for Blind Melon and the aforementioned One Direction. ;-)
Happy birthday Alexis, and thank you for having me!!!!! :-D

Update: 8-22-14  Client feedback is always appreciated!
Thanks Emily. We really enjoyed having you there. You were a big hit!
