Wedding caricature with signature mat, for a VERY dear-to-my-heart bride and groom!

This was a very special caricature for me to create....I've known the bride since she was five years old. She is one of my son's oldest and dearest friends. She is also one of my first subjects, back in the 90's when I was just starting out as a caricaturist. So I thought this would be a very fitting wedding gift to her and her new husband (and it's also 1000x better than the ones I did of her as a kid. ;-)
Her nickname is 'Plum' and he's a professional musician, so I added those two elements to the background...
Here's a guest signing away... and the bride and groom with the artist. :-)

Her wedding party was a group of "bridesmen" made up of my son (who's been her friend since kindergarten), the officiant (who's been her friend since preschool), her brother, her cousin and her Man-of-Honor (who's the latecomer--friends only since middle school!)
I just love this photo! The back of her dress was lovely. I didn't even notice my son was in the background at first!
Congratulations, Katie and Brian!!

Caricatures at a cozy family-and-friends holiday party...

My last gig before Christmas: it happened to be a frigidly cold night outside, but this party was warm and welcoming! I set up in the living room near the Christmas tree,  drew everyone,  then I drew the kids again, in different groupings, so this isn't quite all the drawings I did in two hours... ;-)
He wanted his mac-and-cheese in the caricature!
This lady had lotsa hair up top, and he had almost as much on his chin!
It turned out the hostess and I used to be former neighbors! She lived way up the road from me when I was just starting out doing caricatures!
Thanks for having me! :-)

Holiday Caricatures at Winterthur!

One evening in December, I was part of a very festive holiday soiree held at Winterthur, a Delaware estate formerly owned by Henry Francis du Pont. It's renowned for its mansion which is now a museum, horticultural gardens and collections of American antiques. After arriving and setting up,
(right next to the Queen's corgis!) I wandered around a little bit...

...and very much enjoyed looking at this exquisite dollhouse, which was in an alcove nearby (and is only displayed at Christmastime). I've always looooooved miniatures.
Then it was time to draw caricatures!!!! Right next to the Christmas tree. :-)

Thanks to my client for having me! One more gig to go before the holidays. :-)

Holiday party caricatures for a large medical practice...

...in a lovely venue inside Dover Downs Casino in Delaware. I had a whole alcove to myself, right off the ballroom!

These prints hanging in the alcove were quite eccentric..and very interesting!
On to some of my caricatures:
 Below: a caricature reaction!!!!

I thought this gentleman looked like John Legend.

What a fun group! Thank you for having me!!

Caricatures at a Holiday Party/Open House

This party was unique in that it was also the very first day the employees of this company got to see their new high-rise offices! The view out over Wilmington, Delaware was pretty amazing!

Before the event, I was commissioned to draw the executives (from photos) as a surprise...fun for them AND me, because I was the one to present it to them!

Then I got busy drawing some great faces...and facial hair! :)
Finally, it was bugging me as to who the gal running the photo booth reminded me of...I finally realized it was the make-up girl on Better Call Saul, my favorite current tv show.

Annual holiday party caricatures

I see these many of these folks every year at this party, and really love that they are such big fans of my caricatures. :-)
HIs shirt made me laugh!
This guy was glad to get a caricature; he said my line was TOO LONG last year and he wasn't able to get one....he has one now!!

I wore my Santa regalia...
Thanks for having me!!!

First holiday caricature gig of 2018!

And it was my longest-running annual gig, a children's Christmas party. This year I did it alongside Patrick, John and Joe, my usual cohorts for the last few years. You can see why four caricaturists are needed in the photo above----people start lining up a half hour or more before we start!!
Santa always makes an appearance. Ho Ho Ho!
And I get to see my long-time friend Tina, who helps run things for the client:
It's always fun to draw all the little (and not-so-little) kids' faces!
This little Rudolph escaped before I could get a photo, but I was able to get a good likeness!
...and here are two of my regulars who are really growing UP!
After finishing in the mid-afternoon, Pat and John and I went out for a late lunch (Joe had another engagement)
and the restaurant had a big caricature hanging on the wall!!
