Seniors and Staff BBQ caricatures!

Spent a rainy afternoon putting smiles on faces at an indoor BBQ this week. Seniors and staff alike at this retirement community clamored to get a caricature, once they saw the first few off my easel! Client hopes to bring me back---to get to all the ones I couldn't in the time allotted. It's nice to be popular!

Here's a bit of my output that afternoon:

Thanks to Gigsalad for putting me and my client together! Her review said:

Another Chesco Wedding Connect evening!

I joined a very nice group of wedding professionals on a chilly late-spring evening, to network and show off my silhouette skills on Tuesday. Thanks to Tara and Amanda at Chesco Wedding Connect for putting these on! Toured a new-ish venue, Chesterdale Farm...an amazing eighteenth-century barn restored to its former glory.

Listened to a few talks...
And did a few silhouettes!

You can follow these ladies:  this marketing expert,  mobile bar owner Carolyn, and  photographer Elizabeth who posted her silhouette on her IG! Thank you!

Ran into a friend too! Virtuoso musician Brian Fitzgerald was there. I've known his wife all her life and did a very purple-y caricature for their wedding, which you can see here.
So of course, I cut a caricature of their little girl  (from a photo) for him :-)

This is the beautiful view upon leaving:

Before heading to this event, I stopped at a cemetery about 2 miles away...and paid my respects to the great NC Wyeth and his family. I like to leave little heart-shaped pebbles at my own family's final resting places. This was the first non-family member I ever did that for...because this man's art inspired many others in his wake.

Client Appreciation Caricatures at a Zoo!

Well, I've never drawn caricatures next to a Red Panda---til now!

The event was a client appreciation dinner and there was only gentle muzak playing in the grounds, so I was able to actually chat with my subjects, plus the weather was soooo pleasant (myself and my colleague Deb, were outside next to the patio.) All in all, a lovely evening!

Another gorgeous sunset. Yes, I like to notice them.

Thank you Deb for bringing me along! We closed the place down!

Prom Caricatures! (*NOT* the after-prom!)

I do way more post-proms than actual proms, so this evening it was so enjoyable for me to see all the high school seniors dressed up! And to see the new male hairstyle that is the current rage ( like a llama!)

The prom was held in the gigantic ballroom at Bally's Casino in Dover, DE.

I was asked to offer the students a regular size caricature, or a Mini-caricature...most of them chose regular size: (8.5 x 11)

This young lady wanted a Mini-caricature WITH her big sunglasses, I made that work for her:

And finally, my client and her daughter, who got a MINI-caricature:

I also got to work with my friend Schay Glover! Fun night indeed!!
Thank you for having us caricature artists! :-)

Adorable baby girl's 1st birthday with CARICATURES!

I was situated in the living room, but the party encompassed the whole first floor and the yard:

Drew non-stop and had energy, even though it was my second gig of the day
( I had worked 12-3 am at a post prom earlier!!!

Thank you for having me at such a fab party on a beautiful day!
