Gold Star Families annual picnic--with my caricatures!

I met the hostess of this Gold Star Moms event at another event earlier this year, and she and her husband booked me immediately for this gathering! It's so great to be appreciated that way!

They had me out on a lovely family room/porch of their home, and the guests found their way inside to me to be caricatured!

Before the party started, the national anthem was sung and everyone pledged allegiance...

Then I got to work! :-)

There was live music too! This is the band:
It was totally my pleasure to be there...thank you in more ways than one!

University Dining Hall Caricatures!

My caricatures were part of a carnival-themed, student-morale dining event at UD! Thanks to TheBash hooking me up with my client.
I did my fast line-drawing-only style so as to get more kids drawn.

My client left this feedback for me on The Bash (thank you!!!!)

Emily was such a pleasure to have at our university dining hall event! It was such a cool touch to put the engagement with the students over the top! I would definitely recommend Emily, and she will certainly be the first call I make for future events! Campus Dining Hall Manager, College event, 9-22-22

Backyard wedding caricatures under the trees...

This past weekend's wedding-reception caricature-gig was another outdoor (on a PERFECT day weather-wise), at-home event...held at the childhood farmette of the groom. They literally couldn't have done much more to make it an amazing, memorable event for their guests ---bubbles at the ceremony, barbecue feast, bourbon bar, ice cream truck, a white bounce house, pretzel gift bags, enthusiastic dancing, cornhole games, sparkler send-off (and a porty-potty that was more like a high-end hotel)!

The ceremony was held by their barn...their huge tent was in the backyard...and lots of fun stuff was happening under the grove of trees. Including caricatures!

Here's a view of my set-up (and me, with my new glasses!)

The bride and groom had me do their wedding caricature from photos beforehand, and it was a FAMILY caricature! The kids were best man and maid of honor ,too. Isn't that so sweet? I had it on display near my easel.

Now for some caricatures!

And a couple of reactions for good measure:
Finally, this couple were SO great together...and they made their entrance to a song no one's ever used at a wedding I've been to...
If you couldn't tell, it's Hot for Teacher. Actually I hope it's muffled enough to stay up on my blog. ;-)
I have the best job!!!! Stayed later than anticipated, thank you for having me!

60th Class Reunion caricatures!

On Saturday, my easel and I found ourselves in a VERY unusual place... a taxidermy gallery in a private home! The occasion was a class reunion attended by in-person guests and Zoom guests too. However, I only drew all the IRL guests...

One couple sat for me and said, we have a picture on our phone of a caricature we had done many years ago ( 2009, actually)...I looked at it and said, "Yeah I did it!!!" They were incredulous! Yup. I get around!
She hadn't changed... but he had, somewhat ;-)
Here's a few more:

Here's a cute caricature reaction of my actual client, the host's daughter-in-law and her hubby:
Can't forget the two tween helpers ( i.e. the granddaughter and her friend):

So, after it was all over... and my generous hosts fed me some yummy paella, I was told to go into their library and meet Teddy Roosevelt. He was there in all his waxy glory, complete with whiskers!!!
Gig life means never a dull moment!!! Thanks for having me!
