I hadn't been in this building since I was a child in the 1970's.....when my class went to see the Christmas display here after visiting the Franklin Institute.

Gala Fundraiser Caricatures in the Crystal Tea Room
And I had never been to its flagship restaurant on the 9th floor...til Thursday, when I arrived to draw caricatures at a 1000-guest gala fundraiser event. The law firm of Zarwin Baum was raising funds for Philabundance at a huge March Madness cocktail party, and it was so much fun!
Spot the artist!!
They certainly had my favorite Philly vice for sustenance!!
Thank you for having me!

Swarthmore College Silhouettes
This was a VERY special silhouette event, as the McCabe Library at Swarthmore College brought out some antique 18th-century Quaker silhouettes from their Special Collections to share with students and faculty. This was to fit into the theme of "Body Liberation" week on campus. Having this artist there to cut live silhouettes was the icing on their cake!
I will be going back in the summer to visit, so I can really spend some time looking at some of these precious works of art... and some very scholarly books on the subject (just couldn't do so on this day, as I was non-stop busy!)
Here are some of the ones I cut for some very delighted subjects:
(you can click on them to see them at a larger size)
These two silhouettes are of the same person, one from kindergarten and one from 2024!
Thank you for having me! It was all my pleasure!

Thousand Acre Farm Bridal Show--Silhouettes
My 60th birthday on Sunday saw me happily cutting silhouettes in the barn loft, at
Thousand Acre Farm near Delaware City, Delaware. This show was a much more intimate affair than the recent huge one I also participated in...but I've already gotten a gig from it, yay!
I had a little friend who was interested in watching me set up!
This time, I limited the silhouettes to just brides
, and I was still slammed the whole time! Here are a few:
Thank you for having me and hope to be back doing weddings at this gorgeous venue!
Can you spot the silhouettist in this photo?
Finally, the view from the loft:

Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 Celebration---Silhouettes!
On Sunday, I headed to a really cool whiskey bar in Philly to cut silhouettes for a Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 (go ahead, I had to look it up, too!) celebration/promotional event.
My client, a Jack Daniels brand ambassador, found me via The Bash, and it was a perfect opportunity to practice an old-fashioned art form AND wear my Edwardian dress and hat!
Here's a better view of my hat!
Happy, surprised and numerous guests sat for me!
There were some other fun vendors there too:
who painted on a whiskey barrel top for a raffle at the end of the night!
This is my view of the venue, from my spot on the 2nd floor of the parking garage across the street. Wish all my city parking situations were this easy!
Thanks for having me!
