Bridgerton-themed bridal shower silhouettes

I love the show Bridgerton so it's always a super pleasure to cut silhouettes at events based on it.

In fact, this show has made the art of silhouette portraiture more known among the general public (a main character uses a pen name and silhouette to write a popular scandal sheet that everyone loves). Last weekend, I headed to a bridal shower that featured high tea, fascinators, elegant games and my silhouettes for the delighted guests of all ages! Here are some images from a very thoughtful and endearing party:

Of course, I'm always thrilled to wear my Regency dress, cameo jewelry, fascinator and lace gloves!

The bride was a lovely person, here she is with her silhouette:
(her groom showed up towards the end of the party, his silhouette faces the opposite direction--- so they can hang them facing each other)
The guests all wore fascinators, so it was fun for me to cut them out!

Earl Grey tea as well as Earl Grey-infused sorbet was served! I was in heaven!

They played a VERY Bridgerton-esque game of Bingo!

Thank you to the bride's sister for booking me! And congrats to Eric and Andrew. :)

Rainy Day Wedding Caricatures

This bride and groom got married amidst gentle spring rain showers, on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay...and it was absolutely, stunningly beautiful!

You can see them walking back as a newly married couple in my IG Reel,
along with their caricature reaction!

I've been to Swan Harbor before, it's lovely. Its driveway is almost a mile long!
The cocktail hour was in the manor house, so I started off there, then moved into the big tent on the lawn.

This sampler was done by a little girl in the house in 1817, I found it very moving ( I love counted cross stitch too)
So, on to some wedding guests and the Ambiance Reel:

The groom's dad's mother was a prolific artist. so he found my process fascinating.
You can see more of his photos in this Reel, but I really loved the BW photo he took of me.
I didn't even realize he was there as I worked on the bride and groom's caricature,
from a photo I had taken earlier.

Thank you for having me via Gigsalad!

Monster Mile Caricatures!

For the second year in a row, my caricatures were part of the Fan Zone at the Monster Mile for NASCAR's All-Stars weekend! It was held in May instead of July this time, which made for a nice change weather-wise.

My little black tent is just diagonal to the bottom left corner of the text box...

...right in front of the Airstream that was repping DE State Parks! You can see my line!

So... this year I made a giant composite photo for my client...
here's ALL the drawings I did over the three-day event!

Here's a select few in a bigger size:

Sunglasses seemed to be a theme, as they were imperative on the first day!
I was using Pan Pastels as I did last year, for ease and speed of adding color and shading.
And this year's branded paper had the All-Stars logo and a commanding portrait
of Miles the Monster.

Day 2 Saturday brought some brisk breezes, but I was prepared. The poor inflatable ducky had to be taken down after attempting to stay vertical for awhile:

Family Caricature!

This lady recognized me from a silhouette gig she'd hired me for, several years ago at a college event!!!

Day 3 Sunday

Thanks again to everyone!

Caricatures, OR Fashion Illustrations...for COACH!

My profile on The Bash brought my local mall's Coach store to me, they were interested in having my services for a Mother's Day event they were holding. The premise was: customers bought a certain amount of merchandise, and then they'd get a free piece of art---either a caricature (chosen by most of the dads and kids) or a fashion illustration (more popular with the ladies!) I discovered I really love doing these live!

These took about 6-7 minutes.
I'm using my Copics and Microns after penciling in a quick gestural sketch.

Unlike many other artists who practice this genre, I definitely include the face and likeness.
Because I can! ;-)
These are the sales associates, whom I did at home from photos. We though I'd get them in when I started, but the store was jammed with Mothers-Day-buyers almost right away!
And yes, I did do plenty of caricatures too ;-)  Some mother-daughter pairs:

And some dads and kids, who will have very happy moms and wives on the next day!!

Then there's the girl who just like to shop Coach! (she got a fashion illustration too!)
Thanks for having me!
