Wedding Caricatures---interrupted by fire alarm!

 Well, last night was a first for me as a wedding caricaturist! This beautiful couple had their lovely, lavish reception interrupted by the Hotel du Pont's fire alarms going off, then the whole building was evacuated, and all the guests and staff milled in the street watching the fire trucks arrive! After an interval, the building was declared safe, everyone went back in and CONTINUED PARTYING! :-)

He had such big eyes!

Yes, I am still masking up indoors even though I'm fully vaccinated.

88th, 65th and 61st Birthday Caricatures!

A triple birthday party---for a dad, and his son and daughter---netted them color caricatures, and a family group caricature (whew, fit them all in) with the whole family:

 

Everyone also got their own caricature too. :-)

Thanks for having me, it was fun talking to all my subjects as it was a small party. 

11th Birthday Caricatures!

This young man himself, chose my caricatures to have done at his birthday party from those available on The Bash. What an honor, and thank you Justin! :-) 

He and his friends were all fans of an online video game, so I drew them all with their favorite animatronic character. Fun for them, and fun for me!

A Loooooooong-Awaited Wedding reception (with Caricatures)!

 I drew caricatures at a wedding reception,  way back in the autumn of 2018, where the venue's bartender took unusually good care of me, made sure more than once that I was alright, had water/Coke and was just generally one of the nicest gentlemen you could meet. He admired my caricatures and said they were among the best he'd ever seen...and his son had just gotten engaged, and the wedding planning was in its very early stages. In the spring of 2019, the bartender and his wife booked me for their son's wedding...scheduled for the spring of 2020. Well, we all know what happened there. :-( 

They decided to postpone it, along with a complete change of venue, to July of 2021 (which seemed as though it would never get here!) On a sultry Saturday last weekend, their night finally arrived! Below is a photo of me with the groom (the bride had slipped away already) and their color wedding caricature, which was the final one I drew at an amazing reception...

And here's where I was situated to draw these happy folks, in order:

I wish I had gotten to draw the groom's parents, but they were both busy making sure everyone else had a wonderful time!

Stroll-A-Street Caricatures (with dogs!)

Thursday evenings in summer are Manayunk Stroll-A-Street night, and they bring in various entertainments and vendors. This particular Thursday, it was me and my caricatures, right next to the crepe myrtle tree in the little park!

 

I drew lots of families and dogs:

The sun was setting as I left (and bought my 2nd Thai tea of the night,  from the place across the street!)

Pageant caricatures!

It's been one year to the day since my gigs started back up last summer, after the first wave of pandemic...and that, after five months of no work at all. I hope we don't have another shutdown this autumn, also like last year. 

This was in a lovely venue on the water...

...with a couple of hundred beautiful. accomplished young ladies to be drawn in a three-hour booking

(so hardly any photos)...

but myself and SIX other lady caricaturists GOT IT DONE!!! :-)

This was a true pleasure of a gig!

 

60th Surprise Birthday Party Caricatures!

 

This gentleman was dumfounded when he walked into a restaurant four months after his birthday and found a host of far-flung relatives waiting for him...including a new-found sister!

This is a set of brothers who met a new-to-them sister in real life at this party! They'd made contact prior, but hadn't actually met yet. SURPRISE!!!!

     Here's a few of the other folks I drew ( including a week-old baby, whose birth was the not-secret reason for so many relatives visiting):

Company picnic caricatures!

This company held an informal barbecue at the home of one of its employees, with good food, a big inflatable water slide for the kids and my caricatures! Yay!

Backyard 5th Birthday Caricatures!

 This lucky little girl got a backyard carnival for her birthday, including a huge inflatable water slide, games and my caricatures! There were a few raindrops here and there, too.
