Company Picnic Caricatures!

Annual Delaware company event, so I haven't seen them for two years, no thanks to the pandemic...was VERY HAPPY TO DRAW THEM ALL again~

They had a new food vendor this year, the KAPOW! truck, who had awesome Thai-styled food (along with regular picnic fare). I was given a packaged chicken-pineapple-rice meal to eat on my way to my next gig that day....YUMMMMMMM and THANK YOU!

Company 75th anniversary party caricatures!

What a fun group of people, celebrating a company anniversary with a blues band, a bbq, some good booze...and caricatures (which unfortunately doesn't start with a 'B')!

Here's a little bit of the vibe:

I drew all ages at this one!

This couple were a hoot! Here's their reaction:

Thanks to a great client and The Bash for putting us together. She left me some wonderful feedback!
I have the BEST job!

Backyard Halloween Party Caricatures for a "Ghouls' Happy BOO!-thday!

On Saturday, I did a combination early-Halloween/birthday party for some serious fans of what is one of my favorite holidays! This family, including a birthday-girl tightrope walker and a birthday girl ringmaster, celebrates in early October and welcomed a big group to their fantastically decorated yard...during the late afternoon, the party was dedicated to the kids' activities:

The later it got, the more grown-up the guests became...including a couple of anniversary-celebrating couples! First, here's this lady's delighted reaction:

This caricaturist left as night fell, after the client extended my time there for an extra hour---thanks!!!! And also to The Bash for putting us together! :-)

Campus Caricatures....

...at a carnival-type celebration at Bryn Mawr College, alma mater of Katherine Hepburn.....and Midge Maisel!?

For this gig, I used just markers for the shading, black Copic Sketch markers along with some warm grays.
Here's a few more ladies (it's a historically female college)

The campus itself is beautiful, exactly what an old college looks like, in my imagination anyway.

Here's my set up:

I worked with colleague Donna Needs, whom I hadn't seen since B.P. (before Pandemic!)

The gig was a pleasant one---and went on. til dusk fell. Here's one happy masked caricaturist!
Thanks for having us!

More wedding brunch caricatures!

Repeat Clients are AWESOME! The dad and stepmom of this bride had me draw ten years ago at a 40th birthday party, in their backyard. This time it was for a wedding brunch--in the same gorgeous backyard!

Wedding brunches appear to be a "thing" now, as this is my second one this year, after nonesuch for my entire caricature career. What a great way to unwind after the big day with a fun, chill get-together---eating breakfast food, enjoying a live band and getting a caricature!!

Thanks for having me back AND extending my time there! :-D

Caricatures at Diner en Blanc Wilmington 2021

For my second time around, I drew caricatures at the most fabulous, fashionable and heart-warming party: Diner en Blanc Wilmington. The theme was Roaring Twenties, because that's what happened in the decade after the last big pandemic. This year, it was held in Rodney Square, next to the historic Hotel Dupont, the Free Library of Wilmington and the county courthouse. Of course, this massive event had to be cancelled in 2020, so this year everyone was even more thrilled, if that can be said, to be there. Including me. :-)

I had a fascinator this year! And I brought my easel umbrella, more as signage, for folks wondering from afar, what I was doing there on the sidewalk...

Here's exactly what I was doing!

I had a huge line the whole time, so not alot of time for photos. I took these after my work time was done:

Here's this artist at the end of the evening. THANKS for having me!!

Community Family Day Caricatures

Another annual gig I do, that had a two-year gap between visits because of the pandemic, is this lovely Family Day event held at a municipal complex.  This is one of my favorite gigs---because it's my hometown, where I grew up and have many fond memories. Was glad to be back!

These two were stoic......UNTIL THEY SAW THEIR CARICATURE :-D
Memorably, the lady MAYOR and I discovered that I knew her sister in high school.  We were both on the school newspaper----where I was the CARTOONIST! :-)

Thanks to Bettes Bounces as always for providing my skills to this event! They are a local treasure to this community. :-)

Campus Caricatures in Dining Hall

Students at Chestertown, MD's historic Washington College have a committed culinary staff...they booked me to draw caricatures at a festive welcome-to-our-dining-hall event!

I incorporated the event's logo onto my caricatures, it worked really well with three people in a drawing:
They had some professional photos being taken and shared one on the college's Instagram:
Thanks for having me, Washington College!

Crabby Company Picnic Caricatures again! :-)

On Sunday, I trekked to the land of crabs again (Maryland) for another fun-filled picnic in a pavilion. This was for members of a volunteer fire company, on a perfectly beeeee-yootiful day...

This was a rather hilarious caricature reaction:
Yay!  They gifted me with a generous serving of crabs, which my hubby and I enjoyed immensely when I got home...
Client and I hooked up via The Bash...she had this to say in an email the next day:

Thanks so much! We all LOVED your pictures, in the most non-punny way they had so much character ðŸ˜†

Thanks, that is high praise to me ...my goal is to imbue all my drawings with humor and the character of their sitters.
