10th Birthday Party for Twins whose mom is a treasured repeat client!

This is the third birthday party I've done for these two, but the first one they will hopefully actually remember me drawing them! (I was there for their 3rd and 4th birthdays!)

It's a family party so all ages were there, some I remembered from the past events. There aren't many photos because I was so busy!

My client left an AMAZING  5-star review of my service on my Google page:

Emily is a MUST have for any event where you want fun, laughter and a priceless keepsake for your guests. She was central to my twin boys 3rd & 4th birthdays.... and just did their 10th Birthday. Her caricatures are so accurate and beautiful. She not only captures your features, but somehow pulls in your emotion and energy into a picture. As a person, she is a joy to be with and a true professional. I wish there were 10 stars to reflect my recommendation!!

This is ABSOLUTELY what I try to achieve at every event I do.
Thank YOU for having me!

"Frozen" 3rd birthday caricatures

For the second week in a row, I drew at a child's birthday party where the mother was a fabulous event planner! This one was "Frozen" themed, Elsa and Olaf were there, and a few dozen children and their parents were absolutely charmed!! It was held in a gorgeous event space in a mall, first time I was in this type of location, but when you think about it, it makes total sense!

Here's my spot, well-lit and spacious, and where guests could see me!

I had lots of little faces to do (only did children here, so all families would have a party favor) so here are a few of them:

Olaf wanted his photo with me, since I was drawing HIM on all the caricatures!
My sparkly beret got an outing for this very appropriate event---I don't wear it much because it's actually a bit too small...
Thanks to The Bash for putting me together with this wonderful client.
Here is what she had to say with regards to my services:
This was the absolute best caricature vendor we have ever had. 100% would use her again....5 stars!

Thanks so much!!! :-)

Alice in Wonderland-themed 1st Birthday Caricatures!

...and not Tim Burton's version, either!!! (although I love his work.) I much prefer the original Tenniel pen & ink drawings that illustrated  the Alice book I read over and over, in my childhood. And that's how this party was decorated, by a talented mom. She printed signs and thrifted much of the decor herself!

You can just make out the skyline of Philadelphia out the window, which was anticipating the Eagles winning the Super Bowl later that evening...alas, it was not to be...

I wore my tiny black feathered fascinator:

So, now for the caricatures! I did a fancy beforehand-drawing of the rabbit on the birthday girl's paper....then added her!

I added mushrooms, card suits and teapots to the guests' drawings...

By the time I headed home, it was full dark and that skyline was lit up in green!!
Too bad, it was a close game!!!

Thanks to my client for having me, and for keeping me on longer too! :-)

Father-Daughter Valentine Caricatures!

This year, NINE caricature artists drew several hundred father-daughter couples at this adorable annual event. Girl dads rock!!💗

😲

Here are a few of mine:

I wore my nearly pristine Valentine-hearts sweater, that I was gifted in the late 90's. Bought from Quacker-Barrel on QVC ...and I ONLY wear it to Valentine events. So... it still looks brand new!!
This event is one of the very rare ones that have a sign-up sheet system in play.
It *mostly* works out. At least, mine did this year...all the artists were supposed to
draw thirty-two faces in two hours.  (Mission accomplished. :-)  I actually had people trying to add lines so they could sign up, after my sheet was filled in!! I had to regretfully decline them, but at least there were eight other possibilities they could try!

Here is a panoramic view of the proceedings:
...and a view of the packed dance floor!

Finally, here's the whole gang! I don't even want to imagine the combined years worth of experience here. Thank you David C. Perry!
To my right on the photo, in the dark purple hat...is the first live caricaturist I ever laid eyes on, or met, twenty-seven years ago now. Unknown to her at the time, she was a huge catalyst in my having this career that I do...so every time we gig together, it is really special to both of us. Thank you, dear Sally!!!

My second time doing "stealth caricatures"...at a 30th birthday gala...

It was also my first time gigging for a new agency,
long-time friend Keelan Parham's Artistic Talent Group
The client had been to an event of theirs in Florida, enlivened by a stealth caricaturist, and thought it would be perfect for her daughter's 30th birthday celebration, in our area...theme of which was "funeral for my youth"!! So everyone was in glamorous, sophisticated black (including me!) Above, you can see the small amount of paraphernalia I need for such a gig...a clipboard full of paper, a bag of pens, a small battery-powered light, and that's it!
Below are the birthday girl and her grandma,
who were delighted to be handed this drawing!
 They had no idea!
Stealth caricatures mean the ARTIST chooses what subjects to do!

And they don't even having to be shown from the front! Backside ones are fun too!

I want more of these events! I do have one scheduled, but it would behoove me to show some of these on my website! Thanks ATG!
