Fall weather- rustic barn wedding caricatures!

Two grooms celebrated their long-awaited wedding day on a beautiful and balmy autumnal afternoon. I did their caricature beforehand from photos, so it would be on display during the reception, and they had a caricature reveal before their guests arrived. Click here to see ambiance and reaction!

Here's my view of the ceremony from my perch in the barn!
After the ceremony, I did "stealth caricatures" during the outdoor cocktail hour. Guests thought I was just someone attached to the barn wedding venue as I walked around with a clipboard, til I sidled up to them and handed them a caricature!
Here are a few from the dozen I did in stealth mode.

When I drew this lady's hubby, she knew what was up since I had drawn her earlier...
so I was able to get this posed photo. ;-)

Then everyone went into the beautifully decorated barn, where I was already set up to continue
with traditional caricatures at my easel.

And here are most of the guests I drew!

Thank you for having me Nathan and Bobby and CONGRATS!

Update: 10-18-24. One of the grooms left the the most thorough review I've ever received, on my Google page. Thank you Nathan!!

Emily is not only an amazing artist but a great team player when working with a multifaceted event like a wedding! She did an amazing job capturing us for our couple’s caricature. She did this before the event and used our social media platforms and some photos we sent her to make this- not only did it capture our essence amazingly, but it meant we could be present for guests during our reception instead of sitting for her to draw in the moment. Moreover, the amount of time and detail she was able to put into the caricature of us was 10x that than if we sat day of for her. She did “stealth caricatures” for us during cocktail hour - EVERY GUEST LOVED THIS! For the hour she went around randomly picking people and drawing them, then presented it to them before fading back into the background and sneakily picking the next guest. They all turned out so well - great detail, capturing smiles, unique features and more! Can’t recommend this idea enough as it was new and fresh for a wedding. We enjoyed seeing her draw various guests during the reception in the more traditional way. It was a unique flare to our wedding and also gave guests additional take home gifts to remember the day. Communication was always professional and quick, not to mention easy. Her work speaks for itself and truly is a memory we will keep for a lifetime!

Fall wedding caricatures!

This was such a wonderful reception in a stone barn, the bride and groom are in the entertainment business so they really knew how to throw a party!! Check out my IG: Reel 1. (bride and groom's reaction) and Reel 2 (general atmosphere).

Pumpkin Patch Sunday caricatures!

...at one of my favorite venues, Loblolly Acres in Viola, Delaware. After finishing my drawing time, I was able to enjoy the hayride, pumpkin patch and hidden pub in the pines, with my hubby (whom I brought along for the day!)

I did lots of family caricatures on a beautiful October afternoon!

My hubby took a couple of "in action" shots of me drawing this adorable little guy:

Below: he didn't want a caricature while I was drawing him, but look at his face afterwards!

Afterward, we had some adult beverages!!!!
...then we wandered around the pumpkin patch!
Thank you Loblolly Acres!

Sunset caricatures at wedding reception!

Usually, I try to start on the bride and groom's color caricature from a photo I take right before they make their entrance, and work on it during that, toasts and first dances. I serendipitously finished this one right as the sun was setting and the photographer was taking photos of the couple....look at THIS (no filter and taken on my Iphone)!

Gorgeous setting, happy couple and lovely client---she booked me via The Bash.com.

Here's a better view of their caricature, and you can see their reaction here on my IG.

There were over a hundred guests, so I suggested doing my line-drawing-only style of caricatures for speed, on blue and white papers. I was able to do 55 faces in 3.5 hours. Here are a few from cocktail hour, which was outdoors on a particularly beautiful October evening:
and here's some more from the reception proper:

Thank you for having me!

September outdoor wedding caricatures....

This misty, but beautiful evening in September saw this heartfelt outdoor wedding in Lancaster County...

with caricatures at the reception!

I was situated in my own tent, just next to a rustic pavillion for the guests.
(the chairs were all in use at the ceremony when I took the above photo)

After that, the guests arrived at my tent and I got busy!

This couple were nonagenarians!!!

The bride was my client, and she recently saw me at a Quinceanera I did nearby.
She also knows another bride I did some years ago. So it felt like family!

Here's the bride and groom with their caricature (and me!)

Thank you both for having me on such a special day!!
