A very-Minnie 1st birthday with caricatures

Look at this beautiful room! This little girl's mommy knows how to throw a 1st birthday party!
I just kept saying, wow, how clever!
Of course, there were all ages there.
Happy 1st to Juliana! Thank you for having me! :-)

Happily Ever After (aka wedding reception) caricatures!

This happy couple had their wedding and reception--their "Happily Ever After" party, which I inscribed on each caricature--- in a beautiful, private meadow (to call it a backyard doesn't do it justice).
What an adorable couple, Iknowriggghhht?
This was the view from the driveway!
I arrived, set up and awaited the bride and groom and their guests:
I particularly liked the teal and green theme. Here's some of my output---the bride ended up keeping me on twice as long as I was scheduled :-) so I went from twilight to long after sundown!
Congratulations, Bryan and Cristina and thank you for having me!!

Community Day caricatures 2015

Every year, I draw at an amazing Community Day in Delaware, under the auspices of BettesBounces.com...it's always hot and humid (it's on a riverfront) and it's always a crowd of fun (and patient)  folks! There's a line before I even get started!
I don't forget to bring insect repellant to this gig!
There are returning faces every year for me. :-)
Thanks for another year--I've lost count!

Celestia and the Holy Grail...

In 2011, I created what is probably my favorite ever "wall" at the annual ISCA convention...a Monty-Python-themed  "ISCA and the Holy Nosey" masterpiece, if I do say so myself (insert tongue in cheek here).  (The highest award an artist can receive at our annual caricaturists' convention is the coveted Golden Nosey.) Since we relentlessly caricature our colleagues all week at these cons, I got to choose which particular character in Monty Python and the Holy Grail would become one of my artist friends. God himself became Jan Op De Beeck, King Arthur became Steve Hearn, who was ISCA President at the time, the Knights of the Round Table were his board members, and so on....
For Princess Lucky, who is about to marry Prince Herbert aka Terry Jones, it had to be my friend Celestia Ward  and her huuuuuge....tracts of land. I must have been pretty prescient..because last week, SHE GOT TO MEET TERRY JONES!!!!!

He was in Atlanta, Georgia for DragonCon, and so was she. A special screening of Grail was on the schedule, and she even rearranged her flight home to be able to attend. Yes, I was jealous (life-long rabid Python fan here, ok, since I was 13---and I can recite Python chapter and verse) and yes, I was happy for her. :-)

Casino-themed anniversary-party caricatures!

My local assisted-living home likes having me join them at various festivities, and this summer was their anniversary party...the residents are always up for a new caricature!
Can't forget the staffers who make the place so pleasant:
... including some young volunteers!
Thanks for having me! I felt LUCKY! ;-)

Digital Wedding Caricature---on a bicycle built for two

The bicycle was a must-have for this bride and groom... in a recent cartoon-style digital wedding commission, against a background of their wedding colors. . :-)

Ruby anniversary caricatures!

An intimate Italian restaurant was the setting for a 40th anniversary couple who were just a joy to draw--here they are with their deluxe color caricature!
This was the setting:
One of my clients was a delightful gentleman whom I'd drawn earlier this year at Imagine 2015.
It was a fun crowd. ;-)
Three couples in increasing amounts of blurriness (mine, not theirs!)
Two sets of father-daughters:
and a group photo with the artist (and caricature!) to end the evening. Thank you, gentlemen!!! :-)

Graduation party caricatures

Another graduation party...they're such a rite of passage and they're as enjoyable for me as they are for the guests. I like them because they usually have people of all ages for me to caricature!
The graduate got to be in as many caricatures as she wanted (I usually have a one-drawing-per-person policy...unless you are the guest of honor! ;-) So you can see her above, with her BFF, below, in her color caricature with cap and gown, and below that, with her BF.
Now for some guests:
and a caricature reaction!
Thank you for having me, Alexa! Good luck in your future!

Mid-afternoon morale-boosting corporate-event caricatures

I'm still really behind on my blog....

...so let's go back to hot, sultry July. I did a corporate gig in Central PA...right on the Susquehanna river! This is the view from the parking lot!
The venue was the headquarters of a very forward-thinking social-media-savvy/online marketing company full of smart, tech-minded employees, but they were housed in a venerable old Victorian building:
When I got inside, they had a really cool spot waiting for me:
with a view!
The event was just a delightful break for the employees, who are used to their amazing HR person doing special things for them every now and then. It seemed like a really fun place to work!

Since there were many faces to get through, I did line drawings only, no shading.
These two were newlyweds!
Here's the gorgeous view when I left!
My client found me on Gigmasters and here's the much-appreciated feedback she left for me:
I chose Emily over several other vendors because she had great reviews on Gig Masters and offered a beautiful portfolio to view. I went into the event knowing that we'd be taken care of because Emily handled everything up front and was very excited and enthusiastic about everything she did. She was a pleasure to work with and a delight to have at our internet marketing company for the day!
 Thank you, Heather!
