Lots of eighth-graders...
...got an 8th-grade-graduation caricature tonight, celebrating the end of middle school. This bash rivalled some of the bigger post-proms I have done! I was one of FIVE artists.

NCN Competition Part 2
Here's my progress in the NCN May /June Faceoff competition. I submitted it this morning, and am looking forward to feedback from other members.

The premise is that the Duchess of Windsor was a hermaphrodite, which I tried to illustrate in a more subtle rather than overt manner! This was done completely with an Ebony pencil.

Communion parties!
On Saturday, it was on to two Communion parties: one in a retaurant, the other in a home, located 100 miles apart. Luckily for me, the second party was the one closer to MY home!
Here are the photos I was able to get during a hectic day...

This couple had me include their dog too, even though the hubby kept swearing he couldn't stand the wretched thing!

NCN competiton
The National Caricaturist Network holds a bimonthly competition, which is run by Golden Nosey winner Court Jones (www.courtjones.com). I actually took second place in January with my first digital piece ever, the Patsy Cline caricature that graces the home page of my website. The object then was to illustrate a singer and make the quality of their music inherent in the piece.
The theme this time is to take a long-dead public figure, and illustrate a "secret" about them, which can be true or fictitious. I chose the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and decided to run with the rumor that she was a hermaphrodite...maybe I'll only be able to post a censored version here! However, here are my rough sketches of their faces.

Take me out to the ballgame/birthday....
Today was the birthday of the Philadelphia Phillies' mascot, the Phillie Phanatic. He's a very popular character with both kids and adults, and everybody wanted him in their caricature.

I love when couples follow different teams...this guy was a die-hard Orioles fan, and she was a Phillies-hatted Marlins-jerseyed duel unto herself...

Double Duty
Last night, I drew at two different events...a Phillies game and then a local high school's post-prom party, which was held in the wee hours of the morning.
Here are some examples from my double whammy.

There was a green-hat giveaway this evening, so I didn't draw red hats for a change.
These are from the post-prom:
