Post-prom caricatures---it's been a long time!

I love doing these crazy, late-night, high-school-senior events (as long as they aren't too far from home, anymore.)

I did one or two of them during the pandemic, but they were watered-down, masked events and did not quite have the high spirits of prior such events (which made me feel sad for the classes of 2020 and 2021). THIS one was a return to normality---decorated school, fun theme (Casino night!) bouncy houses, food, karaoke (which I was right across from, yay!) and MY CARICATURES! :-)

This school had actually paid their deposit to me in early 2020...so it took two years to get to the actual event!

Now for some caricatures of some VERY happy 'Class of 2022' kids:

Thanks for having me, NCS~

Prom Caricatures on the Football Field!

Some years I draw at a lot of post-proms... and some years not. This is one of those years, obviously, throwing hundreds of high school seniors in an indoor space with bounce houses and other fun things to do is still probably risky. So instead,  I've been invited to a few actual proms, as opposed to the post-prom. This school tented up their ball field and invited its glamorous seniors to party and enjoy themselves as if it were the finest country club. And they did!

I worked alongside colleague and friend Julie B, trying to get as many kids done in a short time frame as possible... so only two caricature pics!!!

Those masked lady caricaturists are at it again!

Project Grad caricatures---with a quartet of caricaturists!

Late-night gigs require stamina... and caffeine! It's the only time of year I drink Red Bull...
this school held their festivities in a big sports complex.

Here's some pics of my three caricaturist colleagues, Pat, Terry and John, whom I drew along with that MORNING---they had us in various places in the complex (we finished at 2 am--yikes!!!)

I'm the only rebel who no longer uses a French easel:
My little drawing table is MUCH lighter and easier to schlep around.

After-prom caricatures at a STEM high school...

These are an example of my line-drawing-only caricatures, when crowds are huge and drawing speed needs to be FASTTTTTTT! Done with Copic Sketch and Copic Wide markers (they don't make the Wides anymore, so I am hoarding the ones I have)

Post-prom Caricatures...in my super fast style (line-drawing only, no shading)

Every once in awhile I'm asked to draw in my super-quick mode, which is drawing just linework without any shading. I can do 18-20 faces per hour this way. Here's a few delighted teens with their caricatures at a post-pron in a STEM high school!
Justo to give you an idea of other things you can do at a post-prom (besides getting a caricature):

Caricatures at a Philly-themed post prom

This school's parents of seniors go all out!!

I got to draw with two pals, Pat Harrington and John Sprague!

Now for some of my caricatures!

Thanks as always for having me, Sun Valley!
