Library Grand Opening---with mini-caricatures!

They weren't just mini-caricatures, they were on COASTERS! I offer this as an option, and I'm surprised more clients don't take me up on it...the benefit is, since I can only do individuals on them (they're a tiny 4 x 4 inches) that means everyone who is drawn goes home with one (unlike when I draw couples and groups....someone gets to keep it, and someone doesn't.)

Anyhow on this lovely, sunshiney day, a local long-awaited brand new library opened to much acclaim. Many told me it seemed more like a wonderfully welcoming community center. So I was very happy to be part of its Grand Opening!

And Dolly was there in spirit!!!

Marriage Proposal by Mini-caricature! Oh and also a 60th BD party, and an IG viral reel...

This event ended up being a major milestone, for quite a few folks!!!! The setting was a 60th birthday bash for the proprietor of a motorcycle repair shop, so the festivities were held on his premises under the expert planning of his wife. A few days prior, she emailed me to request that when her son sat down with his girlfriend for a caricature, I add "Will you marry me?" to the drawing...

So of course I said yes, and waited nervously til THEY sat for me...

To make it a little more challenging, I was doing 5 x 5 MINI-caricatures!!!

And SHE said YES!!!! Here's the caricature/proposal reaction on my Instagram...so adorably confused!!!

So... a thrilling once-in-a-lifetime moment for this couple is the first BIG THING.

The SECOND is...I put my footage of it all on my Instagram, and it went viral--

it has had the MOST likes, comments, shares, and views of ANYTHING I have ever put up!! 

Every time I open IG, it has more! 

The THIRD big thing is...his dad had a 60th birthday and there were SO many people there to celebrate it with him, and then it became his son's engagement party too...and everybody from both families got to witness such a special moment....BROUGHT TO YOU BY CARICATURE. :-)

Mini-caricatures at cocktail hour

 This local law firm has had me drawing at several of their events over the years--this time it was 

MINI-caricatures 

at a cocktail party for interns at the Delaware Art Museum!

The 5 x 5 mini-caricatures went over quite well!

So well, in fact, that this young lady (on the left) returned to the line to be drawn a total of THREE times!

after it was over, the musical duo who had been playing on the balcony asked to be drawn...
