My profile on The Bash brought my local mall's Coach store to me, they were interested in having my services for a Mother's Day event they were holding. The premise was: customers bought a certain amount of merchandise, and then they'd get a free piece of art---either a caricature (chosen by most of the dads and kids) or a fashion illustration (more popular with the ladies!) I discovered I really love doing these live!

Caricatures, OR Fashion Illustrations...for COACH!
These took about 6-7 minutes.
I'm using my Copics and Microns after penciling in a quick gestural sketch.
Unlike many other artists who practice this genre, I definitely include the face and likeness.
Because I can! ;-)
These are the sales associates, whom I did at home from photos. We though I'd get them in when I started, but the store was jammed with Mothers-Day-buyers almost right away!
And yes, I did do plenty of caricatures too ;-) Some mother-daughter pairs:
And some dads and kids, who will have very happy moms and wives on the next day!!
Then there's the girl who just like to shop Coach! (she got a fashion illustration too!)
Thanks for having me!
Prom caricatures close to home
This military academy held their prom at a very popular banquet facility right up the road from me, so I felt right at home there. My line-drawing-only, MINI-caricatures were a hit!
So cute!!!!

Silhouettes as Experiential Entertainment (not to mention attracting folks to a trade show booth!)
Last week, I spent three days happily cutting silhouettes and attracting trade show attendees to the HUB booth, one of hundreds on the floor at the convention center! The client thought having a historic art performed live, that was relevant to Philadelphia, would be a fun enhancement---and it definitely was!
It was definitely evenly divided between men and women...
Here's a better view of my spot:
Many of my subjects remarked that my silhouettes were the best giveaway at the trade show, preferring hand-made art to the several AI "art" offerings that were at other booths...
Thank you to HUB for having me!

Second outdoor event of the year...college students at PSU Brandywine
It was advertised in the bathroom stalls ;-) ( The Big Beast Blowout)
Had a line even before it was time to start ...
Buh-bye til the fall, PSU!
