Outdoor wedding reception, with caricaturist colleague ArtGirl

Art Girl Deb actually brought me along to help out at her gig, which was appreciated by me!

Here's my Reel about this very sultry evening. 

As I mentioned, it was a blazingly hot evening, but the bridal couple and guests were definitely in a celebratory mood ;) 

We artists were stationed in a snug little air-conditioned barn---so we were a very popular attraction! (this photo was taken at the end of the night)

A Teal and Apricot-colored wedding with caricatures!

This was the color scheme, for this lovely wedding reception at a golf course in Wilmington, Delaware.

I drew on teal and apricot toned paper:

These are my  FAST unshaded line drawing caricatures, since there were more than 100 guests---and I was able to draw more than half of them!

So...the bride and groom were my final of the night...and they spent most of their time on the dance floor, hence the un-tuxed groom.  Here's a link to their adorable reaction.

Emily was simply amazing! Professional and fun! All the guests loved their pictures. If you are on the fence don't be.. book Emily for that extra personal touch.

10th birthday party with caricatures!

 This lovely young lady celebrated her 10th birthday with her besties at a pool party, with caricatures!

I drew everyone individually first, including parents and siblings. 

These got hung up for everyone to admire!

I advised the mom to tell parents to have their kid's caricature copied either at home or at a plave like Staples or Fedex Office, so they could have fun coloring themselves in withwhatever art supplies they enjoy. To that end, I also emailed an 8 x 10 version of the group caricature to my client, so she could share that with the kids, too. 

Of course we were outside, in a nice shady sitting area under the deck...there was a chimney swallow nest in the corner, and the mama bird kept flying through here to feed her babies. That was a first for me!

Family Reunion Silhouettes at the beach!

 A large extended family has been gathering at the same motel in Wildwood Crest, NJ for 

FORTY YEARS! 

This year one of the granddaughters (in a five generation group) booked me to come down and join them on their communal dinner night, and cut silhouettes for everyone! Since it would end late in the evening, my client provided a room for me in the hotel next door, and this was my view when I arrived!

So I relaxed for a little while on my balcony, then walked across the street to where the party was happening. Here's my set up:

You'll get a much better idea of the seashore vibe if you watch my IG REEL, though...

So I cut dozens of silhouettes and almost everyone remarked that they had never seen this kind of artistry done live, and how well it went with a family reunion. :-) All were marked with the colors of the Italian flag, and the family name and date. 

The last to be done was my client and her husband :-)

The next morning I woke up,

and went to the beach! Luckily I brought a hoodie, because it was CHILLY!

Fundraiser cocktail party mini-caricatures at the Queen!

 I'm often amazed at the incredible venues, especially historic ones, where I get to practice my art. This particular event was a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in the upstairs balcony of the Queen, a venerable old theater in Wilmington, Delaware. I've drawn there before, but was always downstairs in the main space. I wondered if folks would find me and my mini-caricatures, but shouldn't have worried---I was slammed as usual!

The mural above was a portrait of a female artist at an easel! How apropos!
