Silhouettes at an elegant backyard (actually front yard) birthday affair!

 On Labor Day, my silhouettes were part of a beautiful and affectionate milestone birthday party, thrown by a loving wife for her husband's 60th birthday, in their front yard. She and Tara at EngagedManagement really pulled off an AMAZING event, which also included caricatures from my longtime friend and colleague Julie. 

We covered pretty much all the kids and many of the adults, so everyone went home with an artistic party favor! Below you can see ALL the silhouettes I did. In the interests of speed, I only took photos of each finished silhouette and did not ask folks to pose with them...50 in all (plus one of Jules!)

The hostess and the birthday guy were more concerned with the happiness of their guests, so we did not get to silhouette-cut or caricature-draw them. They were so thoughtful!

Silhouettes at silhouette-enthusiast daughter's birthday party

This party was thrown for a daughter who treasured her long-ago family silhouettes she got as a child at Disney World, shown here:

So her parents thought having me cut silhouettes at her party would be fun! And it was!!

I was situated in the family room, with a perfect place to display the finished silhouettes!

 I did several dozen during the course of the party. The thoughtful hostess even provided frames for them! Here are a few more photos: (first is the birthday girl with her wineglass!)

Silhouettes at a teddy-bear themed baby shower

Silhouettes are the PERFECT party favor at a baby shower!  

The mother-to-be already knew she is having a boy, so I was able to coordinate with blue backing cards for the silhouettes. Here is my set-up:

I even drew little teddy bears on each card:

(of course my focus was on getting everyone done...so, not a lot of photos)

Her braid wasn't showing when I cut her silhouette, so I did do another one for this beautiful little girl~

I was also able to do silhouettes of the expectant dad (who was there at the very beginning) and their furbaby (from a photo) and I displayed them along with my samples...

Emily's artistic talent is truly unique and special. My guests were very impressed with her silhouette work. I enjoyed meeting Emily and she was a pleasure to have at my event. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Silhouettes at "Beary Loved"--a Valentine's Day event in Boyertown, PA

 A balmy Saurday afternoon is rare for February--unusual, but very much enjoyed---especially because it made a wonderful event even better. "Beary Loved" was a town-wide Valentine-themed festivity that folks could enjoy in all sorts of ways, including getting a silhouette from me!

I was situated in Studio B Art gallery, along with caricaturist Courtney, (whom I had just worked with on the previous evening!) and a harpist, Cindy DePietrio, who enhanced the romantic atmosphere by playing just outside the front door and luring folks in. :-)

Courtney had never seen live silhouette cutting before so of course I had to do one for her!

Here is a map showing just how many fun things were made available by Build-A-Better-Boyertown, who certainly know how to show off their unique and historic small town. I was even able to shop before I started cutting silhouettes, and was able to get my husband's Valentine gift next door. 

Now for some silhouettes... 

Most were of couples, of course! So I cut them as a joined heart-shape.

Silhouettes at a lovely boho-Victorian wedding reception

My silhouette scissors were wielded on a sultry late-summer night, for a fantastic and unique wedding reception, held in a historic Victorian home/wedding venue.  The bride and her wedding planner were wonderful to work with...we even had a Zoom meeting that week to firm up all the details. I was seated in a little "winter porch" off the living room (the reception encompassed the entire first floor, porch and side yard). They even thought to provide a wicker stand for a silhouette display area, for the guests to put their little treasures until it was time to take their leave.  I'll let my photos tell the story:

Silhouettes at a lovely tented wedding shower (amidst real showers)

Rain and a pandemic did not prevent a pleasant afternoon of bridal shower celebrations at a historic restaurant, for a young couple who coincidentally share my name and my husband's: Emily and John!

I cut this silhouette beforehand from photos, and also one in their wedding day-attire, to be displayed at their reception in October (I will show it on my blog afterwards). 

Usually I think silhouettes and caricatures are the best party favors, but on this day I think Emily's hand sanitizer won!

Due to the rain, I was on an enclosed porch with open doors, and the guests were in a tent just outside. A bevy of little girls came in to start things off...
