After-prom Caricatures in the wee hours

My marathon (til 4 am!!!!)  annual post-prom gig found me a little tired before the kids showed up...it was my fifth gig in three days...but I perked up (with the help of some trusty Coca-Cola) once they came in!
Worked alongside the ever-effervescent John Sprague.
Now for some late-night caricatures!

I love this school (and my job!)

Pink 1st Birthday Caricatures!

A beautiful little girl's 1st birthday party included my caricatures. ;-)

The theme was PINK, of course!
Here are the proud parents, who wore matching pink shirts:
Some grandparents:
(caricature made him crack a smile:-)

Parents with their teen and tween, who sat individually. then went off as I finished each one:
(you can really see the family resemblances in that one)

John Legend and his wife---no, not really--just more family members ;-)
(he said he gets that all the time!)

More family:

Thank you so much for having me!

Silhouettes at a high school Prom!

After a hectic afternoon doing caricatures at a nearby university, I headed to this popular restaurant which was hosting a Hollywood-themed prom. I've also done caricatures here before, under this same rotunda, so that's what the staff was expecting me to do. I said, no, tonight is something different! Silhouettes!
This couple arrived early for a photo shoot so they were my first silhouette subjects! I never did get my own photo of them...they had just spent a good half hour posing for their own photographer!

Once the couples started arriving, my scissors flew along.

They're all cut out of one piece of 4 x 6 rectangular paper, into a heart-shaped couple, romantically looking onto each others' eyes. Awwwww!

I cut few of the chaperones too!

I wore my feather boa as my one concession to Hollywood glamour!
Thanks for having me, WCS!

Campus caricatures with two other lady caricaturists!

A rainy day meant a change of location, from campus green to this indoor spot: overlooking the gym, where  we three lady caricaturists did some fast-paced college-student caricatures! I worked alongside Deb Schafer and Donna Needs, both of whom I hadn't seen for awhile, so it was nice to catch up with them!

Three Canadian students. So I had to get out my red artstix. ;-)
BIG HAIR! I love it!

Thanks to Tad at The-Nose.com!

Take Your Child to Work Day caricatures!

Had a fun day in an office full of kids!
Drew them all first, while they were also being enraptured by a magician...during whose act the power went off briefly, in a windowless conference room! Was it part of the act?? No!! It was followed by the whirring of generators, but the A/C was done for the time being!
After the kids were done, I did some adults.
Thanks to my wonderful client, who left me a fantastic, very detailed review on Gigmasters. :-)

We booked Emily for our Take Your Child to Work Day. She was absolutely phenomenal! She was wonderful with the kids. Her drawings are comical and fun, while not being offensive. Her timing estimates were spot on! She was incredibly accommodating and stayed a little longer than the booked time to do some extra portraits. She even used company colors to accent the photos, as well as writing the event title on each picture. She was so friendly, kind, and had a smile on her face the entire event. I would absolutely book her again and will recommend her to anyone looking for a caricaturist in the future. You will be doing a great service to your event by booking Emily!

Montblanc 'Le Petit Prince' Pen launch party caricatures!

Gigsalad put me together with this client...Montblanc, whose new 'Le Petit Prince' pen was launched recently. I loved reading this wise little story in the original French when I was in high school.
So all the caricatures included illustrations from the story.
They even had Little Prince cookies!!

Silhouettes at DCAD's 20th anniversary Art Party!

Jerry's Artarama of Wilmington sponsored my live-cut silhouettes at the 20th anniversary Art Party of Delaware's only art school, DCAD. What a fun night full of artsy people and hats!

This great photo of my process appeared on DCAD's Instagram page and was taken by an alumni, erikaseyeview--- follow her!

Here are a few of my efforts that evening:

I was thrilled to be there! Hope it's the first of many connections with local artists in my new hometown. :-)

Caricatures at a Hospital Volunteers Luncheon

This was my second appearance doing caricatures for this group...at one of the best hospitals anywhere!
Volunteers contribute so much to hospital patients, so it was a pleasure to do something for them!

Thank you for having me! This is the review left for me on Gigmasters:
Emily is the best! This was our 2nd time working with her for an event. She is extremely talented and a joy to work with. The Volunteers appreciate her skills and love waiting in line for her to draw them. Thank you!
