Caricatures at a Hospital Volunteers Luncheon

This was my second appearance doing caricatures for this group...at one of the best hospitals anywhere!
Volunteers contribute so much to hospital patients, so it was a pleasure to do something for them!

Thank you for having me! This is the review left for me on Gigmasters:
Emily is the best! This was our 2nd time working with her for an event. She is extremely talented and a joy to work with. The Volunteers appreciate her skills and love waiting in line for her to draw them. Thank you!

Happy 11th anniversary to my Caricature Blog!

I've been blogging, consistently for the most part,  about my caricature art career for
ELEVEN YEARS!
My very first post was about a Bar Mitzvah I did way back in April of 2007. This is one of the young guests, and there are several things I'd do differently now, but overall it's a presentable effort. At that point I'd been caricaturing full-time for only three years.
Blogs were THE thing on the internet back then, and have waned as other social media exploded in influence, but I have maintained mine because it serves as a chronological visual diary of my growth as an artist. It also shows all the cool folks I've met along the way. And updating it frequently helps me to find new clients by being able to show them, with one link, all the other parties similar to theirs, that I've done. VIVA  la BLOG!

Spring wedding reception caricatures!

My first wedding of the year was held on a picturesque country farm. The skies were dreary, cold and wet, (April showers!!) but the family and friends of the newlyweds made the tented reception a warm and joyous place.
 Ready to draw!
(I did take photos of all the drawings at this reception, so the bride and groom could enjoy seeing them later---it's often so hectic at receptions that it's a blur afterwards---but I won't show all 58 people here. Yes, that's one of the advantages of photographing them all, you know how many you did---I averaged 12 faces per hour...and that's only if I remembered to photograph every single one--I might have missed a few...)

So here's a handful of 'em:
The couple below and I discovered that I'd drawn their grand-daughter at this event. :-)
The bride and groom were in such demand for socializing, (and kindly, did not want to boot anyone out of line for their own drawing) that time ran out and they didn't get a caricature. So they'll send me a photo, so I can do it...the groom looked like a character in the show Vikings and the bride looked smashing in a non-traditional dress, so I am very  much looking forward to doing that for them!!

Once again, Gigmasters put us together. Thanks to them and the groom ( who left the wonderful review below) for booking me!!
Emily is a skilled artist. She has a great attitude and worked really hard to provide fantastic likenesses of all our guests. She was willing to work with us on everything we requested and everyone enjoyed her work. Many people watched as she worked and were amazed. I would recommend Emily for any event and for anyone who enjoys Caricatures. She works fast and was able to pump out an amazing number of drawings in a short amount of time. Thank you Emily!

Spring college football game after-party caricatures!

Early Saturday evening felt like summer in April...80 degrees and a nice breeze made my caricature sitters enjoy their time with me on a lovely side porch:

But as it got later, the temperature plunged noticeably and that gorgeous stone fireplace was needed! It sure warmed me up!!!
Thanks for having me!

1st Post Prom Caricatures of 2018!

It's that time of year when parents of high-schoolers decorate their buildings, supply snack food and fun entertainment---then await the delighted squeals of their kids as they enjoy their late-night after-prom party!
Gigmasters hooked me up with this particular nearby school. The prom committee put me in a well-lit hallway and asked me to do my speed-drawing caricatures...20 faces per hour, line drawing only---no shading.

I clocked in at exactly 40 kids in the two hours that I drew----Thanks, NCS!

This is the feedback that was left for my services on Gigmasters:
Would very highly recommend Emily Byrne! We used Emily for caricature drawings at our Boardwalk-themed After Prom event and the kids loved them! Very professional and a fun person. I would absolutely use Emily again for future events!

65th birthday party caricatures

Saturday was the 65th birthday celebration of a lovely lady who has a lot of loving friends and family:

My spot was right in the thick of things! :-)
Again, another busy event, not many photos but I did get these:
These kids were TOO CUTE!
These ladies were TOO GLAM!
;-)
Thank you SO MUCH for having me and thanks to GIGMASTERS for putting us together!

2018 O's Opener caricatures

A warm-ish spring day, an Orioles win, some beer, and caricatures! What more could you want!?

Eutaw Street was humming with excited baseball fans on the first day of the 2018 season. The caricaturists (and the food vendors, souvenir-hucksters and the lottery-ticket sellers) kept busy!

The Bromo Seltzer Clock was actually working (for many years it was only right twice a day ;-) and was lit for the Orioles in festive orange lights!
Below: Waiting  at the appointed spot for hubby to pick me up afterwards...my car was indisposed. :-(
But this view of the famous Camden Yards  B&O Warehouse is misleading. It's the longest brick building on the East Coast of the USA.

DVCCC Gala Fundraiser caricatures

The theme for DVCCC's annual gala fundraiser was ALL THAT'S PURPLE! and was it ever!!
The decor was purple, the attire was purple...my caricatures were backgrounded in purple...

I've done this event for many years and am glad to be a part of it. This year it was held in a picturesque county club; I was situated at the entry door and it proved to be a very good spot:
They auctioned off a Mummers hat worn by Super-Bowl-winning Eagles player Jason Kelce:

Thanks for having me yet again~

1st Birthday "Dol" celebration caricatures

This little guy celebrated his first birthday in Korean tradition...he chose a book!
The party was held in a restaurant, and his mom outdid herself with lovely decor:
My spot was in an adjacent room, with the balloon twister:
Because there were so many kids, I didn't take pics, but I had to of this Pop-pop and grandson pair:

Here are a few more:
Thanks for having me! And thanks, Gigmasters!
