Afternoon wedding caricatures...

A regal, elegant green-and-gold-decorated hotel ballroom was the setting for my wedding caricatures (after a nice cocktail hour in the wide hallway), But we will start with the gorgeous BRIDE and GROOM:

Aren't they an adorable couple?

As for me, I started off in the hallway adjoining the ballroom for the cocktail hour..

Due to the very large numbers of guests, I used my line-drawing-only caricature style, so as to get more faces done. Aside from great faces, some of the ensembles people were wearing were amazingly beautiful!
Then I went into the ballroom and drew at a VERY fast pace, so there aren't many caricature photos. These are from the last half hour when things wound down a bit:

Thanks to The Bash for putting us together, and to the groom for being a great client! best wishes!

Gorgeous winter wedding, with my caricatures at the reception!

On a very brisk Saturday (BRRRR) this past weekend, my second gig of the new year happened to be an intimate wedding at a grand venue in NJ. It had an indoor mezzanine/balcony where the cocktail hour took place, then the reception itself was downstairs where everyone had a wonderful view of the wedding party descending a grand staircase to general excitement!

We'll start with my caricature of the bride and groom, and their reaction:

I worked alongside my friend and colleague Deb Schafer, was so good to see her!

The bride had asked us to take photos of all the drawings, so she and the groom could enjoy them later, of course, we gladly obliged! Here are some of mine. :-)

Thank you so much for having us Monica and Bobby! Best wishes! :-)

A re-scheduled wedding reception for a VERY patient bride and groom...

This couple was so adorable. Their wedding reception (including my caricatures) was originally scheduled for May 2020, at a different venue. Well of course, that didn't happen. The booked me through The Bash, which made it easy to reschedule once they found a date that worked, and another venue (a fantastic one on The Chesapeake Bay, I might add!)

They opted to have a caricature done from photos before the wedding, so they could display it as a sign-in. They laid the mat flat on the table for folks to sign, then we inserted it into the frame at the end of the night. All I need to do this is photos of the couple from when they try on the dress and suit, and their wedding hairstyles. They can even email me the photos separately, so they get a big surprise from seeing the caricature when they come into the reception, and this way, there's no spoiling the "first look" either.
Once again, how delightful to actually be at a party and talk to people. And once again, I teared up just being there!

The bride left me some glowing feedback and I so appreciate it! Their wedding was worth waiting all that time. Thanks so much!

Cape May NJ beach wedding caricatures!

Cape May is a gorgeous little Victorian town on the very tip of southern New Jersey. The main street is full of quaint little historic hotels, quite a few of which are perfect venues for beach weddings! This adorable couple included my caricatures in their celebrations, at the Peter Shields Inn.

I loved the lavender color scheme!

Thanks for having me, Tara and Matt! :-)

Caricatures at my first Wedding Reception of 2019

This lovely wedding reception was held in a truly impressive, rustic venue on the Delaware River. The groom (and now the bride:) are relatives of a long-time treasured client of mine, so I drove a bit further than I normally do for a gig. It was so worth it!
Live music too!

The bride and groom opted to be drawn from wedding photos later, so here are a few drawings from that evening.
Caricature reaction of parents-to-be!
More guests!
Oooops---I just noticed I put 2018 on the photos. Oh well, as long as my papers at the gig say 2019!
(they did ;-)

Thank you bunches for having me!! :-)

Spring wedding reception caricatures!

My first wedding of the year was held on a picturesque country farm. The skies were dreary, cold and wet, (April showers!!) but the family and friends of the newlyweds made the tented reception a warm and joyous place.
 Ready to draw!
(I did take photos of all the drawings at this reception, so the bride and groom could enjoy seeing them later---it's often so hectic at receptions that it's a blur afterwards---but I won't show all 58 people here. Yes, that's one of the advantages of photographing them all, you know how many you did---I averaged 12 faces per hour...and that's only if I remembered to photograph every single one--I might have missed a few...)

So here's a handful of 'em:
The couple below and I discovered that I'd drawn their grand-daughter at this event. :-)
The bride and groom were in such demand for socializing, (and kindly, did not want to boot anyone out of line for their own drawing) that time ran out and they didn't get a caricature. So they'll send me a photo, so I can do it...the groom looked like a character in the show Vikings and the bride looked smashing in a non-traditional dress, so I am very  much looking forward to doing that for them!!

Once again, Gigmasters put us together. Thanks to them and the groom ( who left the wonderful review below) for booking me!!
Emily is a skilled artist. She has a great attitude and worked really hard to provide fantastic likenesses of all our guests. She was willing to work with us on everything we requested and everyone enjoyed her work. Many people watched as she worked and were amazed. I would recommend Emily for any event and for anyone who enjoys Caricatures. She works fast and was able to pump out an amazing number of drawings in a short amount of time. Thank you Emily!
