Post-holiday company party caricatures!

My second year doing STEALTH CARICATURES for this company party was a big success! It was held in a different location of the same local chain restaurant as last year. I did my thing sneaking around with my clipboard, and everyone loved their surprise, including the owner:

College Spirit Day Stealth Mini-caricatures!

 Well, they started out as Stealth Caricatures! My gig, using yellow/purple and branded 5 x 5 papers, was held in the student union's lounge at WCU.

But soon, folks caught on and a line formed...

so I just went with it and drew them from across a coffee table:

Not too many boys dared...wonder why?

Stealth caricatures at 50th birthday bash!

This was a beautiful black/gold themed birthday party, held at Bally's Casino! 

I had done the birthday boy's caricature beforehand in my studio:

Once enough guests had arrived, I walked around with my clipboard and drew unsuspecting guests! Because it was a two-hour booking and I needed to get as many folks done as possible, my sequence was to draw five or six people, hold on to the drawings, place them on a table in the back and take a photo, then dole them out. It worked perfectly! I only wish I had gotten reaction shots at this event, many people did total double takes and it was such a hoot!

1st gig of 2025...stealth caricatures at a January holiday party

 For my very first event of the new year, I headed to a popular pub to help a company (that is busy enough in December that they defer their holiday party to January) celebrate! Very smart! Gigsalad hooked us up. My client requested stealth caricature mode...

So I walked around with my clipboard and surreptitiously drew folks, then surprised 'em with a caricature!

60th Birthday Caricature COASTERS!

 This was my first caricatures on coasters gig, AND it was also a stealth gig! 

The occasion was a belated 60th birthday for a very musical birthday gal (she plays in a mariachi band and a swing band!) and her big day had actually been during the pandemic, so she is a very young 60. 😂😂😂

I knew folks were going to be singing and jamming on musical instruments, so it was very easy to blend in and draw them while they played. Birthday gal belted out this song!

So, drawing caricatures on little cork/paper coasters has been a "thing" for awhile now. I bought a bunch  a year ago, but hadn't had the opportunity to use them until this party. They are small enough not to be a burden to carry around (both for artist and recipient), and can be done without an elaborate easel setup. 

I used just a few Prismacolor pencils and enjoyed doing them! Now I need to market them!

This young lady had a beautiful singing voice! She was so surprised when, after she sang, I handed her that coaster!

Atlantic City-- beachfront Corporate Stealth Caricatures...

 ...unfortunately, because it was a corporate event that prohibited photos on social media, I can't share any. But here's one of me before I got started! 

My second time doing "stealth caricatures"...at a 30th birthday gala...

It was also my first time gigging for a new agency, 

long-time friend Keelan Parham's Artistic Talent Group. 

The client had been to an event of theirs in Florida, enlivened by a stealth caricaturist, and thought it would be perfect for her daughter's 30th birthday celebration, in our area...theme of which was "funeral for my youth"!! So everyone was in glamorous, sophisticated black (including me!) Above, you can see the small amount of paraphernalia I need for such a gig...a clipboard full of paper, a bag of pens, a small battery-powered light, and that's it!

who were delighted to be handed this drawing!

 They had no idea!

Stealth caricatures mean the ARTIST chooses what subjects to do!

And they don't even having to be shown from the front! Backside ones are fun too!

 

I want more of these events! I do have one scheduled, but it would behoove me to show some of these on my website! Thanks ATG!

STEALTH caricatures at corporate holiday party!!!

 "Stealth" caricatures are a type of gig I haven't had much experience with yet, but the component parts are all within my abilities...

...wear black, walk around a crowded party with a clipboard, draw guests unawares, present them with drawing, then scurry away! At this particular party though, I was asked to pin them all to a display board.

So that's exactly what I did here!

And the guests were DELIGHTED!

The guests enjoyed figuring out each identity on the display. :-)

22 faces in two hours, not bad!

Stealth mode is not conducive for getting photos of subjects with their caricatures, though. As it was my first time trying this, maybe I'll get better at that part as I go.
